In 1986, President Ronald Reagan made Miramar the hometown of his third term as president when he chose it for his inauguration speech. Ever since then,Miramar has been home to more than just political figures; it has also become a center for the shooting community with over 100 businesses incorporated within its limits alone! This year marks the 25th anniversary of NRA Festivals which brings together top name manufacturers and dealers from across the country during one weeklong event!

In Miramar, Florida, there was a large population of NRA members and gun owners who felt that it was important to have shirts that were unique and memorable. The Shirt History Project is an effort to document all of the different T-shirt productions from Miramar over time.
Miramar is a small town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,815 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tampa-St Petersburg-Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first human settlement in what would become Miramar was made on October 3, 1836 when A.J. Morse and his family left Fort Brooke to establish a store along Constitution Avenue in what is now downtown Miramar. In 1839, Capt. John Ligon established a post office here and named it after himself – Ligon Point – but this name never caught on and soon the community was known simply as "Miramar." In 1847, Drury Island (now Clearwater) was leased from state of Florida for $2 per year by General James Wilkinson and William Crouse; the lease included land for a cotton gin and other buildings which are still standing today on Clearwater Island near where US 19 crosses over to Miramar Boulevard. This early development marked the beginning of what would be one of South Florida's most significant commercial areas with major businesses such as J&R Wagon Works (later Bell Helicopter), Gulfstream Park amusement park (now Walt Disney World),BP Refineries(now Marathon Petroleum Corp.), Alliance Boots(later New Balance shoes), Winter Garden resort (now Holiday Inn Express) located nearby as well as several homes built by phosphate mine owners who dotted the area during that time period including Harry Fenton who developed The Villages at Miramar which became one of South Florida's largest shopping centers today. In 1952, President Dwight D Eisenhower visited Miramar while he vacationed in Panama City Beach and chartered an airplane to take him back home to Washington D.C., however due to engine failure he landed at Key West instead and stayed there until his plane could be repaired so he returned to Tampa Bay aboard another airplane just before Christmas day 1953; this event has been called "the original airport" because it served both Tampa Bay and South Florida for many years prior to truly becoming an airport with runways that could handle large airplanes like jets only eight years later! Soon after JFK's visit local businessmen Donatello Pascual purchased rights from Eisenhower for $5 million dollars which led eventually to creation of air force Base Maintained by Air Force Reserve Stations -Miramar AFB-. With this new runway/facility under construction additional homes were constructed right next door including One Stop Shopping Center now bounded by I-Hwy 195 & US 41E! Today these structures remain some of south florida’s most visible landmarks as well as being portions of college coursework boundaries between eastern Tallahassee Campus & western Miramar Campus! On December 12th 1957 Interstate 95 about 2 ½ miles west of townline junction with US 41E eastbound opened operationally when US 9W took over its old routing coming east from Jacksonville paralleling then concurrent through FM 3594 onto I-95 northbound concurrent thru exit #3B which had been formerly designatedExit #1A for Magic Kingdom Hotel just past milepost 7½ from present day intersection with I-195 . On January 5th 1958 Floridians voted overwhelmingly not only did they want their own airport but also increased funding set aside specifically for it within our State Legislature resulting in completion three months later on February 14th 1958…..the first officially registered international passenger jet arrived here!!! As you can see we have come a long way since those early days when all we wanted were airstreams & roads too!!!!
