In 1892, James F. Kapp, a travelling salesman from Cincinnati, Ohio, became the first person to own and operate a scopes in Miami Springs. At that time, Miami Springs was a small town located in central Florida. The town was founded by its namesake springs on the site of present-day Palm Beach County in 1839. By 1890, Kapp had sold his business to amateur astronomer Arthur Morse and his son Edwin Morse. In 1895, Edwin Morse began purchasing land adjacent to his father's property in order to build an observatory on it. The new observatory became known as the Miami Springs Observatory (MSO). It is now one of the most popular tourist destinations in South Florida for its many telescopes and exhibits related to astronomy. The MSO operated from 1895 until 1924 when it was sold to The National Broadcasting Company (NBC). NBC used the observatory for various programming including science fiction movies such as "The blubbering monster" (1924) and "Jupiter's slave" (1925). In 1951, FCC regulations changed which required all Amateur Radio Service stations be licensed under specific frequencies allocations instead of individual licensees being allocated specific frequencies throughout their territory like MSO had been doing earlier. As a result of this change, NBC moved their studios from New York City to Washington D.C., where they continued using the MSO for various programming until 1976 when they moved back into Miami Springs and discontinued all operations there completely. From 1976 until 1984, KOIN-TV station served as the primary local PBS affiliate while also providing graphics and programming mandated by FCC rules at that time behalf of all AMS licensed stations across America through their owned-and-operated television channels rather than individual licenseeowned TV stations only having those services available through independent secondaries like KOIN did previously. After leaving KOIN-TV behind in 1984, WSVN channel 7 became the new primary local PBS affiliate while also providing graphics and programming mandated by FCC rules at that time behalf of all AMS licensed stations across America through their own owned-and-operated television channels rather than individual licenseeowned TV stations only having those services available through independent secondaries like WSVN did previously; however this arrangement ended after WCVB Channel 8 came onto the air with similar mandates starting on October 1st 1985 when that station purchased KOIN's affiliation with PBS due to financial difficulties experienced by WTSP Channel 11 which then regained full ownership from Sinclair Broadcast Group just prior thereto.) Miami Springs was founded in 1876 by J.M. White and his brother-in-law, W.H.A. Coulter as a spa town on the banks of the Miami River in Dade County, Florida. The original town site was along the present day corner of Northwest Third Street and East First Avenue, about two blocks from what is now the intersection of Northeast Third Street and Southeast Second Avenue in Miami Springs today. Miami Springs is a small community located in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The population was 2,771 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami-Dade City metropolitan area. The community was founded in 1940 by John J. Kapp and his wife Esther Kapp as a retirement home for soldiers stationed in Fort Lauderdale. The name Miami Springs was chosen because it indicated that the springs would provide excellent water source for invalids and others who needed rest and relaxation after long deployments or working long hours in war or peacetime occupations. In 1948, Miami Springs became an incorporated town after being approved by the Florida State Legislature. In 1951, it annexed Plantation Key to its borders making it one of only two towns to have both annexations; the other being Cutler Bay which merged with Doral in 2014. In 1957, Coral Gables annexed Miami Springs but not until 1959 did Plantation Key annexe Miami Springs As an incorporated town, Miami Springs had several powers reserved to it such as single taxation on real estate transactions carried out within its limits without going through city hall; election of officials including Mayor and Councilmembers; setting of rules governing communication between citizens and government officials; passage of ordinances regulating professional conduct by members of the public and other private individuals; allowing establishment within Town limits of a library (now called Coral Gables Library) or providing equipment for said purpose; creating streetlights throughout Town boundaries subject to regulation by townspeople through their “Lighting Ordinance” passed annually.; Allowing residents access to limited sidewalkswithin their own borders without charge during certain business hours when sidewalks are available on either sideof streets bordering Town limits

On December 2nd of that year it had a population of 3,848 and on December 12th it became over 4,000 when it annexed to Broward County with Homestead being its eastern boundary until 1956 when that line was moved westward along Parkland Boulevard and Boca Raton Road to include present day Coconut Grove

The first well was drilled in 1885 and Miami Springs became a settlement in 1887. In 1907, the Miami Springs Hotel was built and served as the center of community life until it burned down in 1958.
