As part of this merger, Miami Springs became part of Manatee County and was renamed Spring Hill Park. In 2001, Spring Hill Park incorporated as a city within Manatee County and remains an independent city today with a population of over 16,000 people.

Miami Springs became a popular bedroom and spa destination for wealthy Americans and their families during the 1920s and 1930s. In 1939, Miami Springs was annexed by Miami Beach, making it one of the most recent municipalities to join the city of Miami.
