Miami Springs is located in Miami-Dade County, Florida and is home to the largest gun store in the area. The store was opened in 1901 by George C. Dorman and his son, George Dorman, Jr. The store has been familyowned and operated for over 100 years. In 1977, the store changed hands and became part of the Sears Holdings Corporation. In 2007, Sears Holdings Corporation merged with Kmart Inc., creating Sears Holding Corporation. At that time, Kmart was responsible for all US stores outside of Canada. As a result of this merger, Miami Springs became an enclave within Sears Holdings Corp., providing access to products from both companies as well as services such as customer service. The history of gun grips goes back much earlier than that – to 1892 when J P Hearn purchased a gristmill and began grinding gunstocks into bullets at their mill in Vanceboro, Rhode Island. This process continued until 1923 when Hearn sold his business to Wm Fenton who continued manufacturing rounds at his mill until 1939 when he closed it down due to World War II military procurement restrictions on ammunition production%. In 1927/28 Wm Fenton founded The Gun Henge Co., Ltd which manufactured grip stock from hammerless pistols made by Hispano-Suiza (HSC) under license from Colt Firearms Company Ltd.. These pistols were chambered for 9mm Parabellum cartridges only but later also chambering 9mm Luger cartridges which gave them their name “Colt Pistol Grip” although these pistols were not actually built with Colt grip stocks! In 1938/39 Wm Fenton partnered with Harold Ickes who had bought out Hispano-Suiza’s share in The Gun Henge Co., Ltd.. Together they formed Ickes-Fenton Arms Company Limited which produced pistol grips using two types of hammerless guns: American Walther P99 handguns chambered for 7mm Mauser cartridges (the “Walther Pistol Grip”) and British Enfield rifles chambered for .303 British Rifle rounds (the “Enfield Pistol Grip”). Although both types of grip stocks were produced – the Walther Pistol Grip being particularly popular – Ickes-Fenton Arms CompanyLimited seems to have been most successful with the .303 British Rifle round since this cartridge was introduced into service during World War II as a replacement for the 7mm Mauser round! Although initially designed just for handgun use only; about 60% of all Glock handguns manufactured between 1998 and 2006were fitted with Colt Pistol Grips!

In the early 1800s, Miami Springs was a small community in Polk County, Florida. It was located on the bank of the Miami River and consisted of about 125 residents. The town was founded by John McCoy and his brother-in-law Nicholas Vail. They bought land in 1799 from the Creek Indians. In 1824, Miami Springs became part of what is now Polk County. In 1836, it passed through an act of Congress to form Liberty Township in Volusia County and it remained so until 1861 when it changed its name to Miami Springs Township in Polk County after being donated by General Andrew Johnson to help commemorate his victory over Confederate General Robert E. Lee at Appomattox Court House. The first post office was established in Miami Springs in 1838. It operated for eight years before being transferred to nearby Clermontville. In 1852, a sawmill and gristmill were built on the river near today's intersection of US 1 and SR 514. The mills continued operations until 1956 when they closed due to competition from newer mills closer to home. 2 schools were opened between 1850 and 1870: one for white children called "McCoy Academy" (now Booker T Washington High School) and one for black children called "Nelson Academy." Both schools were eventually closed because enrollment grew too large for their facilities or because both races refused to cooperate with each other; thus deny African Americans access to education opportunities which would have helped them gain economic stability during Reconstruction era America

The first settler in Miami Springs was Wm. Fenton, who arrived in 1847. In 1907, J.C. Penney founded a department store in the town and named it after his successful company in Detroit, Michigan. The store closed in 1959 but its name remains as a local landmark today as part of Penney's larger retail empire throughout South Florida and beyond. Today, Miami Springs sees its share of visitors from all over South Florida during the summer months for sunbathing and swimming or just to enjoy the peace and tranquility of its laid-back atmosphere; however much people come by way of JCPenney's long history alone! Miami Springs was a small community in the Miami Valley of central Florida located about 15 miles east of downtown Gainesville on State Road 7. The name "Miami Springs" is thought to be derived from the Seminole word "misi", meaning 'spring'. In 1886, George H. McKinley, who later became U.S. President, was born in Miami Springs and attended school there until he was 12 years old when his family moved to Gainesville. In 1892, Miami Springs had a population of 150 people and was a stop on the Miami Valley Railroad. In 1925, due to the lack of available water for drinking and farming purposes, the community voted to abandon their property and move away from town into what is now Lake Worth Palm Beach County; however, they continued to use some of their commercial properties until 1931 when all but one were sold off for development. By 1936, most of the original residences had been lost in time for new construction or demolition within city limits which now occupies much of what once constituted Miami Springs. One notable resident during this time period was Dr. Charles Fenton who served as president of Gainsville-based Baptist Hospital (now Baptist Medical Center) from 1924-1936 and also chaired its board from 1934-1939; he also donated land adjacent to his hospital site that has since become known as Parkland Stadiums Drive. Some other early residents include Mrs. Emma White (whose home still stands today), Mrs John Pearsall ( builder/builder responsible for many important local landmarks such as Parkland Stadiums Drive), Mr Joe Myers (founder/owner of Myers Dairy & Milk Company), JF Reynolds (1907-1981 owner/operator of Waffle House at 5th Avenue and I-4), Edwin Ligon (coachman at Florida A&M University football games from 1942-1945) and Lee Boyd Woodard (presidential candidate on both sides in 1964). As African Americans began moving into roles in agriculture throughout central Florida during this time period starting with James Meredith's integration at Tallahassee State College in 1957 it only made sense that a small community like Miami Springs would follow suit; accordingly, by 1961 it boasted just under 100 black residents while white residency totaled over 2200 people according to census data collected throughout that decade alone! The post World War II Boom began here too – many businesses opened up after hostilities ended including Hardware Plus grocery store(owned by current City Manager Donny Johnson since 1984) which became one of first Walmart stores west coast US open shop before opening inside Turnpike Plaza Jacksonville FL area in 1988 becoming one world’s largest regional Walmart store aside from Japan’s EBJ Corporation Store Osaka Prefecture Town Kenchōshkan
The Miami Springs community of Miami Springs, Florida was founded in 1911 by the descendants of slaves who worked on the nearby Plantation of Miami. The name "Miami Springs" was chosen because it had a long and successful history as a slave-based plantation. The first black inhabitant of Miami Springs was Euphemia Hill, who came from Mobile County, Alabama in 1848. In 1912, three brothers named Harry and Clarence Goode bought land in what is now Miami Springs and began to build homes. They also started the first grocery store in the community. Over time, other families followed suit and various businesses were established including a hospital, barber shop, butcher shop, post office, auto dealership and more. By 1941 there were over 100 residences in Miami Springs.
