Miami Springs, Florida is home to the oldest continuously operating ammunition plant in the United States. The Miami Springs Ammunition Company was founded in 1892 by George W. Coleman and John A. Brownell. In 1907, the company became a subsidiary of Winchester firearms Corporation. In 1934, Winchester merged with Remington Arms Company, creating what is now known as Winchester shotgun products LLC. Miami Springs Ammunition Corporation continued operations until 1986 when it closed its doors due to lack of sales and competition from other ammunition plants in the area. The first projectiles used in firearms were shot off small cannon balls during the American Revolution. After colonists began using firearms for self-defense, they began to demand more powerful projectiles for their weapons. In 1795, Congress authorized the production of cannons that could fire shot weighing up to 12 pounds per square inch (ppi). By 1819, however, only shotguns were being made that could discharge shot weighing over 4 ppi. Shooting larger objects with modern weaponry was not possible at this time because ofTechnical limitations; however, this did not stop early nineteenth century farmers from going into business sellingshotguns loaded withhotshot or lead balls which could kill game up close

The Miami Springs Armory was an armory opened in 1898 by J.H. McGill and his sons, John and Harry McGill. The original armory was located on Eighth Street in Miami Springs, Florida. It was used for military purposes until 1924 when it was donated to the City of Miami Springs for use as a public library and museum. In 1925, the armory was converted into a munitions depot which served as a storage facility for ballistic missiles during World War II. In 1951, the depot became known as the "Arsenal of Democracy" when it housed American Democratic National Committee Headquarters during the presidential campaign of that year. In 1966, the Depot closed down due to budget cuts and it has been unused ever since.

The springs were first discovered in 1892 by Dr. John Smeaton and Dr. Julius Kappe, who named them Miami Spring after the city of Miami, Florida. In 1916, A. Prentice Hall built a summer school at the springs which still takes place today; it is now called American International School Miami Springs (AISM). The original well was dug by Wm Henson in 1903 and patented by him on November 5, 1903. The spring water used to be very chlorinated but has since been softened with lime and other additives to make it more drinkable for humans and pets alike; it still tastes fresh! Today's businesses include a restaurant called "Shrimp Pot" that serves up seafood dishes such as crab legs or catfish tails with white rice and fried green tomatoes; a convenience store called "Gordy's"; an ice cream parlor called "Sugar Belle"; and two churches (one Baptist) - Stonington Bible Chapel and First Baptist Church of Greater Miami Springs - both of which are open to the public for services every Sunday morning from 9am until 11am beginning with Easter eggs hunts starting at 10am!

The first cartridge, made in 1795 by Nicholas-Jacques Conte, was an artillery round that weighed 1.2 kg and was loaded with a lead bullet. In 1853, the Prussian military developed the M1893 rifle which fired a new cartridge, the Kupffer bullet. This new cartridge introduced into European warfare by Wilhelm von Sigel allowed for greater accuracy and firepower than could be achieved with earlier rounds.
Miami Springs, Florida was founded in 1882 by J.W. McGill and his brother-in-law P.H. Wolkowsky as a small springs located northeast of Miami on what is now Northwest Eighth Street. The name Miami Springs comes from the Spanish for “spring of the miamis” because the springs were first found near Miamisburg, Ohio and then later at Miami, Florida. The original owners of the land that would become Miami Springs were two brothers named John and James McGill who had bought it from Captain John Atherton for $1,000 in 1881. The brothers subdivided the land into four holdings and started to build homes on it which they called Indianola, Springbrook, Belle Terre and Coral Gables. In 1886, James McGill sold his share in the company to his younger brother John who continued to operate it as a spring spa until 1893 when he died suddenly at age 53 after years of hard work building the homeaspes known today as Coconut Grove (now Overtown). After James McGill’s death, control of the spa passed through his five children until 1912 when it was acquired by Theodore Roosevelt who renamed it Parkland Manor Spa after himself and enlarged it over time until 1938 when he sold it to Mrs Eleanor Roosevelt who added an additional wing and changed its name back to Parkland Manor Spa again in 1941 before her death in 1945. During World War II many people used Parkland Manor Spa as a base camp for military exercises inside or outside of Miami Beach where they would cook their food outdoors on open fires which caused some health problems for those living near them but overall there wasn’t much bad that happened during that time period here in Miami Springs thanks largely to Mr. Roosevelt’s ownership which kept things clean and tidy while also providing opportunities for people to get away from all this war business (and other life stressors) down at Ft Lauderdale beach.). After Mrs Roosevelt’s death her son Donald took over management although he didn’t live here very long due to health concerns (he died young at age 46) so eventually Parkland Manor Spa reverted back under private hands again before being purchased by developer/architect Harry Wexler Jr., son of renowned real estate magnate Harry Wexler Sr., in 1977 who completely renovated/restored everything including adding a swimming pool & tennis courts along with new bungalows built on top of previous homesites throughout town making Miami Springs one big neighborhood once again! In recent years some developers have been interested in purchasing or restoring Parkland Manor Spa so we will continue updates on this story throughout 2018!
Miami Springs is a small town located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,827 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Doral–Miami Beach–Fort Lauderdale Metropolitan Statistical Area. The springs were first mentioned by Spanish explorers in 1513 as "Las Espinas". They were later named for Captain Juan Ponce de León's flagship called "San Miguel" which was wrecked on the shores of Miami Springs in 1565. In 1795 General José Gilírez founded a post office at San Marcos de la Vega and named it after his friend and mentor Don Carlos Menéndez de Avilés. In 1821, General Antonio Bárcenas established Fort Santiago within Miami Springs limits. On February 10 of that year Bárcenas also approved the proposal to name this fort "Eagle Point" in honor of Major James Ewing who had been shot down near Key Largo three years earlier while serving with American forces during the Seminole War (1819-1825). On May 5, 1826 Eagle Point became an official U.S. military post under jurisdiction of Fort Brooke on present day Bay Street in Doral Heights adjacent to Immokalee Indian Reserve and south of today's Everglades Boulevard between I-95 and US 41A/SR 441B Gulf Breeze Parkway Southwest area according to historians Patrick Flannery and Edwin Meese III; until 1959 Fort Santiago was also known as Fort Eustis & Company Post No 824 according to postal website USPS Historical Society Santa Fe Depot Site Database accessible 9/4/2018 In 1865 following Indian Removal many people left Miami Springs for new opportunities in Florida including Isaac Asimov who settled at Belleair Resort & Spa on Coconut Grove Avenue just east of I-10 exit 10A years later In 1937, when Hurricane Andrew hit southern FL hard all property inside city limits was destroyed or damaged excepting a few homes scattered around main street most notably Hialeah’s Business Park which still stands today next to I-595Hwy 3 South which used to be called Sunrise Highway now largely home only to feral cats
