The park will have a baseball diamond with an outfield that can accommodate up to 10 teams (7 American League teams and 3 National League teams). The stadium is scheduled to open in 2020 and cost $101 million dollars

Miami Lakes was originally named after the Miami River. The area had been inhabited by the Timucua people for centuries before Spanish colonists arrived in the early 17th century. In 1699, Captain Pedro Menéndez de Avilés discovered what would eventually become Miami Lakes and named it La Havana. The first European to inhabit the area was Juan Manuel Fangio, who settled in 1680 on a small island near today's downtown Miami. By 1800, Miami Lakes had over 100 inhabitants and was home to a sawmill and gristmill. On January 6, 1821, American Commodore James Kurey bought 1,000 acres of land at present-day Miami Lakes for $1 per acre. On February 15 of that year, Kurey submitted his plat of Miami Lakes to the U.S. government for approval as a permanent U.S. territory. The original boundaries of Miami Lakes were much smaller than they are today; however, they remain largely within their current boundaries due to various addenda and revisions throughout their history.
