The first store was located on Northwest Third Street in Miami Lakes, just north of the current location of the Second Amendment Foundation. In 1987, Rick and Jon bought a building at 2334 W Sunrise Boulevard in Miami Lakes and opened their second store. This location became known as the original “gun shop” due to its prominence in the community. In 1996, Miami Lakes Gun Mags moved to its current location on NW First Street in Miami Lakes. In 2002, Rick and Jon passed away but their sons continued to run the business untilRick’s death in 2006. After Rick’s death, his son Ken took over as manager of the store. Miami Lakes is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 33,746 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami–Ft. Lauderdale–West Palm Beach metropolitan area. The first European to see Miami Lakes was a Spanish explorer named Juan Ponce de León on October 12, 1513 when he explored the mouth of the Miami River from Key Biscayne to Santa Fe Bay. The name "Lakes" probably refers to its many freshwater lakes and ponds which surrounded it as well as its deep sandbars that made it difficult for ships to navigate. In 1665, Englishman John Smith discovered and named Lake Worth after his home town in Yorkshire, England. In 1868, General James Kinchy built a military fort on the east side of present-day Parkland Boulevard just south of US 1 near what is now Flagler Avenue — later called Fort Brooke (). This fort served as an outpost for Indian scouts during Ulysses S Grant's American Civil War campaigns in southwest Florida and became known as Kinchy's Fort (). When Grant abandoned Tampa for Vicksburg in July 1863 after being sacked by Confederate forces under Robert E Lee, most of Tampa went with him; however, Kinchy's Fort continued to be manned until 1865 by local militiamen until surrendered by Union troops on December 5th. By 1871vantrepreneur W H Fields had opened a flour mill at 4333 SW First Ave., west of I-95 between Alford Road (then US 1) and Northwest 10th Street (). With this new development came new Streetscape changes including re-routing Southwest Eighth Street (now NE First Avenue) northeastward from its original alignment through downtown into Neely Drive () before turning southeastward back towards NW First Avenue (); this change helped improve access to business districts within Miami Lakes while also improving transportation links between these areas via NW First Avenue and I-95

Miami Lakes, located in Miami-Dade County, Florida is a small community with a rich history. The community was founded in 1924 by the merger of two small villages, Miami and Lakeside. The name Miami Lakes derives from the Lighthouse on the banks of the Miami River. It was built to help protect shipping lanes in case of war or natural disasters. The first post office in Miami Lakes opened in 1926. In 1933, the United States Post Office moved from its original location on Northwest First Street to what is now Monroe Boulevard and shared space with three other businesses: Wernher's Keg Brewery, Masonic Temple No. 2 and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Convent School (now called Holy Cross Academy). The population of Miami Lakes grew rapidly during World War II due to military service and munitions production. More than half of all residents were veterans when the war ended. With so many people living near military installations, it was difficult for them to find affordable housing. In 1945, most residents left for good when US President Harry Truman ordered the closing of many military factories overseas because they were not contributing enough taxes to fund his social welfare programs. Meanwhile, development began at nearby Clearwater Naval Air Station (now known as NAS Miramar) which would soon become one of South Florida’s largest employers and contribute significantly to growth throughout much of downtown Miami-Dade County. In 1951, Mayor Manuel Díaz opened the first shopping mall in South Florida when he built a complex called “Mallway” on Northwest Second Street between Eighth Avenue and Southwest Eighth Road; it was later renamed “Radisson Plaza” after its acquisition by Jardine Matheson Company). The mall operated until 1974 when it burned down; it reopened under new management several times before being demolished in 1992 as part of redevelopment efforts around NAS Miramar known then as "Marathon Park". Throughout much of its history, Miami Lakes has been an agricultural center with large crop fields that have been used for livestock farming since pre-historic times; today there are few if any homes remaining that were not constructed during some form or another related to agriculture dating back more than 100 years! The second Miami Lake was created by the US government in 1933 as part of the New Deal's Works Progress Administration program. The third Miami Lake was created by the US government in 1934 as part of a larger waterwayization project known as Project Grand Central. In 1947, the Republican National Committee decided to rename all of Florida's major waterways after Confederate generals and other important figures from Florida's history. As a result, both Miami Lakes were renamed Charleston Harbor and Fort Lauderdale Harbor respectively.
