The Super Carbine became very popular among law enforcement officers and first responders because its low cost and easy operation made it an ideal weapon for these types of applications. In 1978, Cannon Company filed a patent application titled “Arms Race Gas Block” with U.S Patent 7/856,046 entitled “Improvements to Firearms” which later became known as the Cannon Amendment to United States Code §1911 (the Gun Control Act of 1968). This amendment specified that all rifles must be able to fire without assistance from a gas block such as those used in shotguns and pistols

In 1959, construction began on the Roberto Clemente Bridge over theMiami River at Northwest 3rd Avenue in Doral Heights; it was finally completed in 1984. The bridge has been called one of Americas most significant engineering achievements and has helped improve transportation access to the city center and its suburbs.
