As the oldest continuously operating shooting range in Miami Gardens, Florida, The Gun Club of America was founded in 1933. As an NRA affiliate, The Gun Club has been hosting target practice and other Shooters matches at its center since 1934. The original Shooting Range building on Northwest Second Street was designed by O'Donnell & Weems Architects and built in 1932. At that time, it was one of the largest outdoor ranges in Miami-Dade County. In 1955, when the range moved to its current location on Northwest Fourth Street, it became one of the first gun clubs in South Florida to offer trap and skeet shooting. In 1987, The Gun Club leased a new building on Northeast Eighth Avenue from the Miami Dade Sheriff's Department for use as a training facility for law enforcement officers. This training annex serves as the Law Enforcement Officers Training Facility (LERT). Today, LERT is home to both misdemeanors and felony firearms classes for police officers from across South Florida who need instruction with safe storage and handling of firearms. Today’s Gun Club offers members a variety of opportunities to shoot targets indoors or outdoors; group functions; social events; educational programming; rifle/shotgun shoots; muzzleloading demonstrations; revolver match nights; shotgun club meets; duck hunting tournaments open to all firearms owners age 18 or older annually during mid-March – late October ; annual Members Meeting which features speakers from government agencies responsible for firearm regulation including: ATF, DOJ etc.; regular meetings of Board of Directors which includes election of officers every two years followed by meeting where matters affecting members are considered such as dues collection/payment issues etc.; occasional exhibitions featuring local art products shot by club members using club rifles/shotguns during member shows held at various locations around town

In the early 1920s, Miami Gardens was a small town in Polk County, Florida. The population was only around 1,500 people. In 1922, the city of Miami was incorporated and it rapidly grew in population. By 1928, Miami had over 10,000 people living within its limits. During World War II, many patriotic Americans decided to live in Florida because of the war-time rationing that went on throughout the state. Many residents chose to move to Miami Gardens due to this factor. In 1958, Miami Gardens became home to one of the first amusement parks in South Florida when Suncoast Park opened its doors. This park is still in operation today and features a variety of rides and attractions for visitors to enjoy.

Miami Gardens is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 25,871 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area that would become Miami Gardens was first settled by Englishman John Thornton in 1793 and named after the rich man's estate in Norfolk, England. At the time it was only a small town on the then Indian River Lagoon and attracted primarily African Americans due to its close proximity to Fort Harrison and other white settlements in southern Florida. Thornton also developed what is now NE 3rd Street into a major commercial thoroughfare for black Atlantans who wanted access to education and job opportunities outside of Jacksonville or St Petersburg. In 1875, Averell Harrell purchased land east of Third Street from Thornton for $1 million and began development as an agricultural colony known as Harrelltown which became one of South Florida's most important citrusgrowing areas before being annexed by Miami in 1933. The annexation led to increased competition for resources between Miami Gardens, Doral Heights (then called University Park), Coral Gables (then called Coconut Grove), Plantation Row and Overtown among other neighborhoods within Dade County during the Depression years when jobs were hard to find due to prohibition laws which had been passed during President Franklin D Roosevelt's New Deal programs. By World War II, many working class blacks had moved out of metropolitan areas such as Detroit or Newark into poverty stricken rural communities such as Greenwood Lake or unincorporated Broward County where they established collective villages known collectively as "Boko Haram". In 1941, following Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor which destroyed much of Hawaii including Honolulu International Airport and Open Field Airfield - both located near present day Midtown - most Japanese American citizens living on Oahu were relocated to locations such as Kailua-Kona on the island southeast of Hilo; Waimea Bayou west of Honolulu; Kaneohe Bayou northeast of Honolulu; Haleiwa Peninsula southeast of Kailua-Kona; Pahoa District northcentral Maui; Molokai Islands northwestulnerirgle Mana’au Valley outside Lahaina Village; etc., but some remained behind until 1945 when all Japanese Americans living on Oahu were finally deported without families upon orders from Ulysses S Grant under his Executive Order 9066..
