Hines purchased land east of present day Midtown Drive and renamed it "Miami Gardens". By 1865, all Irish Americans had been expelled from Miami Gardens; this change was effected due to political pressure from then Mayor Fenton Keyes as well as fear that African American residents would take up residence there if their community remained isolated from white society. In 1897, American entrepreneur Manuel Carrera bought all of Flagler's holdings within the boundaries of present-day Miami Gardens annexed into his city limits; this acquisition led to Carrera's nickname "Manuel Carrera Colombia" or "Manuel Carrera Make America Great Again." In 1903, Manuel Minton donated land which became known today as Marlins Park for use by both baseball teams – the Brooklyn Dodgers (then known as the Naps) and then theMiami Marlins (now called Red Sox). One important development during early years of Miami Garden City was when telephone service was available only through operator Western Union which offered long distance service for a fee from those living near Coconut Grove across town on Biscayne Boulevard where connections could be had for about $4 per hour with excellent local phone companies like Atlantic Telephone Company (later Coral Gables Telephone Company), Southern Bell Telephone Company (later USTelephone), National Broadcasting Corporation’s WMAC Radio #1 which served much of Broward County before they merged with AT&T in 1961), Sprint PCS Communications Inc., Verizon Wireless - now Time Warner - did provide services until 2006 when Comcast took over operations followed soon thereafter by Charter Spectrum Cellular Services LLC operating under Time Warner Cable brand name throughout most Lighthouse Point areas having pre-existing tower locations inside/outside buildings connected via microwave technology providing high speed internet access service without contracts or usage fees typically charged by larger providers including DSL ISPs) making it one of few places outside major urban areas still using copper wire main lines much like it once did serving small towns/villages in central NJ etc…..Today efforts are being made to replace many obsolete streetlights with LED lights making streets more visible at night while also creating new opportunities for retail businesses adjacent to lighted intersections……….Many people think that large corporations such as Comcast or Charter Spectrum should not have any control over neighborhoods such as Lighthouse Point because these types of investments tend not to lead directly to jobs and economic development but rather generic cable TV providers affecting other aspects such as traffic congestion caused by heavy fiber optic deployment……………………………………

The first permanent settlers in what would become Miami Gardens were three brothers who arrived on horseback from Ohio in 1835 and named their new land after their home state: Miami (New York). After several years of growth and development, they decided to name their town "Gardens" since it was easier to spell than some other locales they had consideration for such as "Hills". In 1857, John H. Thornton purchased 5 acres (2 ha) of land east of Washington Street in what would become Miami Gardens. He built a farmstead known as Thornton's Farms which still stands today. Thornton soon became one of the most influential men in early Miami Gardens due to his connections and ownership of many businesses including a grocery store and physician’s office. In 1865, he donated 640 acres (248 hectares) of mangrove swampland along Waveland Boulevard south of I-10 to the City of Miami for use as open space; this area now includes parts of Coral Gables and Homestead Heights neighborhoods. In 1886, Henry Flagler founded Dadeland Land Company with $5,000 from his father-in-law Daniel Webster Ballentine to purchase well over 100 square miles (260 km²) near Broward County line where he planned to build an integrated resort called “Flagler” that would include hotels, casinos, theaters and pleasure gardens; however no completion occurred until 1914 when US$245 million worth investment was made by buyers led by Standard Oil company president John Rockefeller under pressure from President Wilson seeking trade concessions during World War I efforts at creating an American Imperialism project across Europe etc.; it never materialized due to lacklustre finances although some evidence suggests that key figures within Standard Oil company such as David Rockefeller may have been involved with secret government financing for this venture). However even without this ambitious goal becoming realized much later Flagler Place located off I-95 between SR 614 westbound Exit 297B and SR 610 eastbound Exit 298A/A remains largely unoccupied because its prospective development partners never materialized despite promises by flagler himself which included plans for a skyscraper reaching 350 ft (100 m) tall; currently only one building on Flagler Place -Flagler Center -remains operational(Citigroup tower), originally completed in 1978 but abandoned following its closure in 2001). In 1922 J P Morgan bought all rights to the name “Flagler” from Mr Fenton Moore & Son Limited Partnership thereby becoming controlling interests holder whereby J P Morgan & Co., through its subsidiary Anglo American plc., continued developing the Resort until finally being sold back into private hands in 1990 by then Chairman Sir Nigel Lawson MP who also served as Premier Of England From 1997 To 2002.)
