When Hugues Ladd moved from Louisiana to South Florida in 1892 he brought along his wife Marie with him and their four children: Claude (1893–1971), Cecile (1895–1976), Jeanne (1901–1993) and Henrietta (1903–1996). They soon after began farming what is now known as “Ladd” Street between NW 3rd Avenue and NW 85th Street which they named after their father – Louis Ladd Sr., who had come to America from France some time before that. Henrietta married Drury Lovejoy on October 11, 1912 at Palm Beach Presbyterian Church; they would have six children: Mary Louise (1914-1995), Leslie Dean (1920-1999), John Hutton Lovejoy Jr.(1924-) – also a doctor – Cathy Lee Woolridge(1926-) – also worked as an advertising executive for Ford Motor Company; Patricia Lynn Lovejoy(born November 9, 1928) married banker Floyd Stroud III on September 8, 1959 at Our Lady of Swettenham Parish Church in West Palm Beach; Mark Anthony Lynn(born December 21st 1932) was born on April 17th 1934 to Drury D’Angelo Lynn & Anita Deutchman; all five siblings grew up attending Catholic schools then went off to college or work during World War II when war started and Korea opened up so that young people could serve our country while making money for their families afterwards! The early days were tough but happy because everyone knew each other very well from church services and family gatherings…everyone got along just fine! There were no problems until 1953 when brothers Harry & Walter Tillinghast purchased 640 acres east of present day Alton Road & Muskegon Boulevard within what is now called Miracle Mile Section of South Park Blocks development near University Drive/Avenue Maitland Shopping Center - this parcel included much of today's northeast corner lot #7015 used originally by Captains Joris van der Kolk & Cooley Frick/Frickenburgh Seeds fame for growing citrus fruit including oranges & grapefruit etc.; these Brothers immediately set about grading, planting & caring for what would become homesite #008984 opposite Pompano Beach Pier Casino where momma Irma cooked meals dailyianearly 1948 thru 1951 tv shows like "Island Heat" aired nightly 5pm thru 10pm EST live from Pompano BEACH!!!
