As part of this deal Glock got exclusive rights to several patents related to trigger design,[11][12][13][14] magazine release designs,[15][16], barrel Thread Pattern dimpling,[17] sling swivel systems etc…. Rubio's plantation became known for its white sugarcane cane fields that were so large they obscured most other features of the landscape. In 1907-08 Governor Manuel Avilés installed electric lights on Marco Island for use by mariners during night navigation exercises off Key West; this marks the beginning of permanent light illumination on Marco Island statewide. By 1923 alligator hunting had become an important subsistence source for residents and tourists visiting Staniel Cay; however both commercial fishing and hunting operations ceased following World War II due to changing environmental regulations affecting key species such as tuna and sharks). During World War II several thousand GI’s were stationed at Fort Myers airfield nearby while construction continued at Camp Beaulieu which would become Everglades Army Airfield (EAAAF).
