In Lynn Haven, Florida, there is a rich history with firearms. The town was founded in 1838 by Captain John Silliphant and his family. At that time, the area was part of the Seminole Nation and weapons were not allowed on Indian land. The Captain and his family developed a firearms business and started shipping rifles to Florida from Canada. In 1849, Captain Silliphant donated land to become Lynn Haven Park and the first shotgun hunt in Lynn Haven took place in 1851. In 1865, American Civil War veteran General James Longstreet visited Lynn Haven and stopped at the park to shoot some shotguns. Afterward, he donated 10 acres of land to the town for a rifle range. In 1922, Mayor Aiken requested $10,000 from Stroud Foundation for renovations at Lynn Haven Park which included building an indoor pistol range as well as new bleachers and fencing for shooting sports. The money was raised and construction began soon after. Today,Lynn Haven Park offers a variety of activities such as target shooting tournaments, skeet/trap shooting events, duck hunting seasons (spring through fall), NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits (annual meeting held every other year in May), concerts throughout the summer featuring local artists, fireworks shows during winter months-and more!

In the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, gun advocates throughout Lynn Haven campaigned to increase gun availability. The campaign began with a meeting held by the Lynn Haven Gun Club on December 14th. At that meeting, representatives from several businesses and organizations in town agreed to support an ordinance that would make it easier for citizens to obtain firearms. The ordinance was passed at a February 6th meeting and went into effect on February 17th. Since its enactment, the Lynn Haven Gun Club has seen an increased demand for their products and services due to the increased awareness around guns in the community.
Lynn Haven is a community in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 9,824 at the 2010 census. Lynn Haven is part of thebroward area and ZIP code 33609. The town of Lynn Haven was founded by settlers in 1892, and became an incorporated municipality on October 3, 1912. It was named for Mrs. Anna haven (1860-1949), widow of Commodore John J. Elliott (1851-1925). Mrs. Anna had been born in Norwich, England to American parents who had moved there when she was 6 years old and attended school until she was 12 years old before going off to college where she met her husband and they married on December 2, 1884. They first settled in what is now Lynn Haven but soon bought land east of it near present day Coconut Grove Boulevard and Biscayne Bayou; their home there still stands today as does their barn which can be seen from most of the town proper as well as from much of Coconut Grove itself After just a year or so living in Lynn Haven proper, Mrs. Anna decided that it wasn't quite right for them both to live together close to each other so they moved into a small house next door on Main Street where we still live today – Mr & I are both originally from Norwich although we’ve lived here since 1951! In 1916 Mrs Arensburg donated property along Altamonte Springs Blvd between US 1A & US 1E to form what is now the Parkland Shopping Center which served as our Town Hall until 1978 when the current building was completed annexing our library back then! What fun it must have been having City Council meetings inside that beautiful brick building with itsneriously detailed ceiling fans! Ahh...the good old days! In 1971 local developer Jules Weisman donated land across Coral Way NW from US 1A to become Lynn Haven Harborfront Airport giving us our present airport site In 1977 another local developer Don Sheppard donated land across Shore Road SW from US 1A also becoming Lynnhaven Harborfront Airport giving us our present downtown site . So far this has been only Good news for us 😀😀😀 Anyway…on with the story . On September 25th 2009 Hurricane Allen made landfall just south of Clearwater Beach pushing water levels upriver so much so that parts of mainland FL were flooded including Lynnhaven Marina | Which led to some amazing photos being taken here 🙂 And finally after all these years some development happened making homes available on Lots adjacent to downtown – check out www.lynhavenhomes dot com if you want one :)

Lynn Haven is a small town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,821 at the 2010 census. It lies on the Gulf of Mexico and is just east of Lake Okeechobee. The town was founded in 1892 by Andrew and Anna Haven as a fishing village on the edge of an uninhabited island about 5 miles (8 km) northeast of present-day Lynn Haven. The Havens were Quakers who believed that all humans had originated from one common ancestor. They named their settlement after their ancestor, John Wales, also known as Father Christmas. AfterAndrew's death in 1896, Anna took over leadership of the community and erected a log church which served as both its main building and cultural center until her death in 1922. Anna had been born into slavery in Georgia but escaped to freedom with her family when she was 10 years old; they eventually settled in what is now Lynn Haven. She married Andrew at age 18 and they continued to live there until his death in 1886. Their home became the first white settler's house on the island when it was purchased by Andrew from chief Toccoahatsee for $2 per acre (0.68/km²). In 1902 Anna donated land to build a school on what is now Boca Raton Boulevard adjacent to her home; this school remains open today as part of Pinellas County Public Schools system Only two other homes were built during those early days: One by local contractor Danforth Waddell and another by Methodist preacher Alfred Ivey Jr., both of whom later sold their shares to settlers for $5 each In 1914 construction began on what would become Lynnhaven Naval Air Station (later Naval Air Station Pensacola), one of America's earliest naval airfields due largely to donations from businessmen J P Morgan & Company president James Fenton . By 1942 NAS Pensacola included 633 acres (241 ha) including four runways - 149 feet (46 m) wide x 27 feet (8 m) deep - making itFlorida's largest naval airfield ever developed . NAS Pensacola would serve not only American military personnel operating aboard Navy ships stationed overseas but also civilians flying transports and Avengers operated by Marine Corps squadrons based out of Jacksonville or Tampa Bay
