In 1934, Winchester introduced its Model 70 Rifle which featured a bullpup grip design which made it easier for users to hold onto their firearm whilethey fired rounds from it; this particular feature led eventuallyto the development of modern shotgun ammunition chambers that accept both centerfire and Rimfire cartridges

Many famous people have lived or worked in Lynnhaven including: Ulysses S Grant ( Commander-in-Chief during Reconstruction); Jimmy Carter (Presidential Candidate 1980 & 1984); Michael Jordan (Hall Of Fame Basketball Player); billionaire Elon Musk (); Governor Charlie Crist (); Alice Bemis (); author Harper Lee (); Singer Sammy Davis Jr.; Mayor Rick Renteria ().

The first settlers to Lynn Haven were farmers who arrived from England in 1836 and named their new land "Haven" after their homeland of Havenshire in England. In 1865, a post office called Lynn Haven was established, and the town's first store opened in that year. In 1868, the first school opened in Lynn Haven. The town became a city on December 15, 1907 when it merged with neighboring Lake Worth to form the Orlando-Lake Worth metropolitan area. The city of Lynn Haven was renamed for General James Millington Hearst (1866-1933), publisher of "The Miami Herald". Hearst had been born in Virginia but moved to Miami when he was 4 years old and until his death spent most of his life here. He helped contribute greatly to both the development of Lynn Haven as an agricultural center and also its status as an important financial center during the early 20th century. After Hearst's death in 1933, much of his money went into building what are now known as Hearsttower skyscrapers along International Drive near downtown Orlando which remain one of Central Florida's most famous symbols today
