By 1928, all firearms manufacturers had become involved in the production of gun lights; these devices were typically attached to rifles or shotguns using straps or clamps, and were commonly referred to as "gunlights." The popularity of gun lights continued through World War II and into the postwar period; during this time they were often used as decoration on military rifles and shotguns, or as part of target shooting competitions. However, while they remained popular throughout most of their history, gun lights eventually became less common due to their high cost and lack of versatility.
Lynn Haven is a small town in Miami-Dade County, Florida. It was founded in 1884 by Williams and his wife Anna Haven. The population of the town was 5,000 when it incorporated as a village in 1903. The Havens donated land for the construction of Everglades National Park and for Hurricane Andrew's reconstruction. In 2003, the town annexed Palm Beach County to form a combined municipality with a population of over 120,000 people. The origins of Lynn Haven are obscure but it is thought that Williams and Anna hadkelland (now part of Miami) on their farmstead when they decided to move there after watching engineers build canals to convey water from Lake Okeechobee through central Florida. They named their new community after Anna’s maternal grandmother who had been born in Lynnfield, Massachusetts some years earlier. Anna died young – only 38 – and Williams took her body back to America where she was buried at Mount Auburn Cemetery near Boston before moving downriver with her family to live among the Seminoles at Fort Myers on the banks of the river which he called “Lynnhaven” because it looked like no other place on earth. His wife’s remains were brought back here after his death in 1916 and interred next to her mother in Mount Auburn Cemetery until her death also in 1916; then they were taken downriver again for burial beside him undergrowth close by their original homeplace at Fort Myers . In 1903, Anna's husband Williams subdivided property now containing portions of both townships into tracts known as "Haven" Lots 6 & 7 & 8 which became taxable parcels within Lynnhaven Township while tracts 3 & 4 remained unincorporated lots adjacent thereto forming Palm Beach County Annexation Zone #2 therein (the latter including all or parts of several adjoining parcels within MiamidadeCounty - hereafter generally referred to herein as 'Lynnhaven Townships').
