In 1920, the name of the company changed to Smith & Wesson Corporation after being purchased by Samuel Colt’s company. In 1930, Smith & Wesson Corporation merged with Colt Firearms Corporation to become one of the largest firearms manufacturers in the world. Throughout its history, Smith & Wesson Corporation has played an important role in American society and has supplied ammunition to many law enforcement organizations around the world

Lynn Haven is a census-designated place in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 5,486 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area. The community was founded in 1926 by a group of farmers who were moved from rural central Florida to what is now Lynn Haven due to the lack of available land and improved transportation after the end of World War I. The town grew rapidly during its first few years with many new homes being built on donated land and tax payments from property owners. In 1951, when much of central Florida became reorganized into counties, Lynn Haven became part of Dade County. However, it continued to grow quickly and by 1960 had reached its peak with 6,000 residents. At that point development began to slow down as more people moved into other areas in Dade County or nearby cities because there were more available acres for farming or housing developments in those areas. In 1984, the town voted to secede from Dade County and become an independent municipality under the name Lynn Haven Independent School District (LHISD). The decision was made because local government services were not meeting the needs of the community and they felt that their wishes should be given greater precedence than those of county officials. The township has since been renamed again - this time as Lynn Haven – due to its location within Miami-Dade County and its status as a municipality rather than an individual school district

Lynn Haven is a town in Monroe County, Florida, United States. The population was 6,693 at the 2010 census. It derived its name from Lynnhaven Creek. The town of Lynn Haven was founded on December 1, 1892 by J.T. and Gertrude Beasley as part of a much larger farming community called White Sands Landing on the southeastern coast of Monroe County. The Beasley's were the first white settlers to live in what is now Lynn Haven Township and they built their home on land that would later become known as Beasley Park. In 1897, they moved their family into what is now known as the Community House which still stands today and has been converted into a museum dedicated to the history of Lynn Haven Township and Monroe County. In 1902, Jens Jensen established himself as an enterprising businessman in Lynn Haven with his grocery store & general store (later renamed Jensen's) located on present day Main Street near present day Lake Eola/Boyd Road. By 1911, Jensen had developed over forty-eight acres ( twenty-six hectares ) along the banks of Lynnhaven Creek where he erected a large brick building which served him & his successors for many years until it was destroyed by fire in 1978. His extensive commercial acreage continued to be developed through out ensuing decades until it was finally sold to businessman James Ladd who operated it until 1983 when it again burned down due to careless storage practices by its new owners During World War II, most notably during Gulf War I when USS Forrestal launched her last torpedo attack against Japan off Kure Atoll - much celebration took place throughout America due to this event taking place just blocks away from our shores - many people living within walking distance came together to form "War Mothers" groups and donated food & materials for local military families stationed overseas; some of these women even kept detailed records of their activities highlighting such things as how many times each household supplied groceries etc... Today we can see remnants of these early days here at Mount Pleasant Cemetery... Many residents also volunteered time working various wartime projects such asidium production at Palm Beach Naval Air Station or helping care for troops returning home after fighting abroad... In 1984 James Ladd sold his extensive commercial acreage including Jensen's General Store building along with hundreds more small businesses providing jobs for Central Florida residents during one of the most difficult economic times ever experienced by our state In 1990 John Fenton opened up Fenton's Restaurant across from Drury University which quickly became one of the most popular places for locals and visitors alike for its delicious Americanized Japanese cuisine This unique restaurant went thru several changes before eventually passing away in 2003 however portions have been retained inside since then serving hungry students looking for something different every night! hard work pays off!
