The expansion of the Longwood Golf Course began in 1892 with the construction of a single golf course. The first eighteen holes were designed by Edwin Green and play was limited to members of theClub de Golf Longwood. In 1923, the Club de Golf Corporation purchased the land that now forms part of Longwood. The original clubhouse, known as "The Links", was built on what is now Fairway Road. In 1934, Dr. Jens Müller became president of Club de Golf Corporation and renovated and expanded both the clubhouse and the golf courses across all twenty-six hectares ( seventy acres). He also added a number of amenities such as a swimming pool and tennis courts. In 1957, Dr. Müller's son Dr. Helmut Müller succeeded him as president of Club de Golf Corporation and continued his father's legacy by expanding all aspects of club operations including developing new courses, renovating existing courses, managing expenses, marketing & selling club products etcetera.. During his presidency period there were many noteworthy projects such as construction of Payne Park which opened in 1964; renovation/expansion at Pinehurst Country Club which opened in 1978; development at Indian Head Resort which opened in 1984; reconstruction/remodel at Champions Pointe which reopened in 1988 after being closed for over thirty years due to water damage; introduction into production of new ballastless irons - Tiger Woods' favoured club - in 1990... Today longwood continues to be one Of America’s most popular golf destinations with over 1 million visitors each year enjoying its challenging 9 holes championship layout or its beautiful set women’s links championship course featuring striking views from every hole along Lake Norman Drive.
Longwood is a small town in Florida, located on the eastern edge of the Everglades National Park. The population was 8,445 at the 2010 census and it is part of the Miami-Dade County metropolitan area. The town owes its name to two brothers, James Longwood and John Longwood, who founded it in 1845. The two brothers ran a sugar cane plantation until 1830, when they sold it to Colonel Hugh C. Johnson for $4,000. In 1868, James Longwood donated land for a school which served the community until 1925. In 1907, Longwood was incorporated as a village and remained so until 1959 when it became an incorporated town under state law. The first mayor of Longwood was Wm. Fenton Hays. One of the things that set Longwood apart from other small towns in Florida was its lack of manufactures or heavy industry; instead, most residents were farmers or citrus growers who relied heavily on agriculture and natural resources such as water power to generate electric power for their homes and businesses. For many years there wasn't even a phone line in town!

Longwood is a town in Brevard County, Florida, United States. The population was 5,824 at the 2010 census. Longwood is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Coconut Creek Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1837 by Captain James Nicholson and his family as an agricultural and cattle station on the Stonington River. In 1852, the first post office was established in the town. By 1870, Longwood had a population of 1,500 people and became a city when it merged with Kissimmee in 1907. In 1938, Longwood amalgamated with Indian River to form Palm Beach County. On February 2nd of that year, Mayor Waddell announced that all long-term residents were invited to move into newly built housing developments called "New Town". The new towns were modeled after English villages which had been popular during World War II because they offered easy access to shopping and other amenities for civilians living outside of combat zones. On October 1st 1957 Hurricane leaves behind extensive damage when it makes landfall on Longwood near Cocoa Beach FL killing most of its inhabitants including many mayors and governors who had address the citizens before landfall. Many structures survive such as Old Town Hall now used as a museum which has been open since 1978 . On April 17, 1861, Longwood was the site of an important Civil War battle. Union General John C. Fremont attempted to take the Confederate capital of Richmond by attacking from the south, but he was met with fierce resistance. The battle lasted three days and ended in a Union victory.
