The Lighthouse Point Pistol and Shotgun Club is a gun slings history society located in Lighthouse Point, Florida. The club was founded in 1949 by Bob Hines and Dick Welch. The club has hosted several annual conventions since then, including the Lighthouse Point Gun Show in May of each year.
Lighthouse Point is a census-designated place (CDP) in Nassau County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,868 at the 2010 census. It lies on the eastern coast of Long Island Sound and is also bordered by Putnam County to the north and east, Miami-Dade County to the south and west, and Monroe County to the south-west. Lighthouse Point was founded in 1892 as a lighthouse on an island in the sound. In 1907 it became part of Nassau County. During World War II Lighthouse Point served as a storage depot for ammunition for ships anchored offshore. In 1954 it became home to Fort Pierce Naval Air Station until its closure in 1978. The fort was demolished in 1984 and all traces of it have been removed except for some pilings that remain today near Lighthouse Point Road on Long Island Sound. The community has experienced rapid growth during recent decades due to its location close to major shipping lanes and airports, as well as its status as a popular tourist destination; however, some residents feel that development has not kept up with housing needs within the community.

In 1907, American gunman John Dillingergunned down 12 people with his bare hands while on the loose in Chicago. This event led to development of the modern shotgun sling which allowed users to keep their firearms close at hand without having them cluttered up in a makeshift holster.
Lighthouse Point is a small town located in Brevard County, Florida. The Lighthouse Point lighthouse was built in 1851 and is one of the oldest standing lighthouses in the United States. The lighthouse has been used as a tourist attraction for over 100 years and is now operated by the National Park Service. The early history of Lighthouse Point can be traced back to 1796 when Captain John Stroud erected a light on what is now called Point Lobos Island near present-day Lighthouse Point. In 1821, Captain George Stephenson erected a second light on nearby Prairie Island, which still stands today. In 1852, the first lighthouse keeper’s house was built at Lighthouse Point. However, it only lasted for two years due to problems with construction; the house was destroyed by fire in 1853. It wasn’t until 1861 that an permanent lighthouse was constructed at Lighthouse Point. The original lighthouse had eight Fresnel lenses and could see up to 12 miles away. However, it was replaced by a more powerful structure in 1912 with sixteen Fresnel lenses. In 1967, the old red brick keepers’ cottage was demolished and replaced by a new building that stands today as one of Brevard County’s most charming tourist attractions. Lighthouse point's rich history began way before it became an Active Tourist Attraction however some interesting events from this time include: Captain John Stroud who erected an Light on what is now known asPoint Lobos Island around 1796 . This event started something that would continue for many years until Captain George Stephenson installed his Second Light on neighboring Prairie Island just 2yrs later! Captain Stephenson also created another landmark associated with this time period when he Built His Own Keeper's House which burned down within 6months of being Built! Needless To Say This Event Had A Huge Impact On The Townscape Of Those days! Another Interesting Event That Happened During This Time Was When One Of The First Married Citizens To Live At anchor With Her Husband At Anchor named Mrs Ann Dunham Became An official resident Of Pt Lobos In response To Captains demands !! !!
