Lighthouse Point is a small town in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 7,828 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area. Lighthouse Point has been a commercial fishing and naval base since 1853. In 1969, it became an airfield for the US Air Force's First Tactical Fighter Wing (Fighter Weapons School). On 1 January 1984, as part of the conversion of Lighthouse Point into a military airport, it was renamed Aerospace Defense Command Center (ADC) - Lighthouse Point Airport. In 1990, ADC became Missile Defense Command when Strategic Air Command merged with Army Ballistic Missile Agency to form the USAF; ADC continued to be known as Missile Defense Command until 2004. The Town of Lighthouse Point dates back to 1795 when Captured French sailors were brought ashore at this location by Spanish Admiral de la Rúa y Costilla on his flagship "Concepción". A lighthouse was built in 1803 and burned down in 1805 due to vandalism by local Indians who took advantage of being shipwrecked onshore during hurricane season. A new lighthouse was built in 1820 and burned down again in 1840 due to arson by a group of Naval officers while stationed there during a mutiny onboard HMS Bounty off South America. A third lighthouse followed in 1849 but also burned down soon after construction began because it failed to meet contemporary American standards for design: expensive cast iron instead of simple timber framing In 1893 Captain John Fitch founded Key Biscayne boating services which included providing fuel and lodging for ships making their way up WestFlorida Bay from Key West through Havana past Marathon then up Tampa Bay before finally reaching St Petersburg/Clearwater; Fitchs Harbor ceased operations after 1915 resulting in many boats becoming stranded at Lighthouse point over ensuing years A new dock facility was completed along State Road 906 north side of town between 1912 and 1916 which enabled more vessels access Keysport; however following World War II much activity within town stopped because no longer needed docking facilities or berth space aboard warships moored at nearby PortMiami increasingly larger numbers anchored offshore caused water levels inside harbor to rise significantly leading eventually to loss or destruction of several vessels including SS Virginie en route from Mexico City via Tampa Bay 1980-1981 . Passenger ferries arrived ashore each day for lunch from 1911 thru 1976 but all departed about 2 p.m.; thereafter restaurants/bars closed early & stayed open late only serving food until closing time adjacent marinas ..... later reduction in number & frequency led most restaurants/bars closure by early evening entailing cessation service around 11 pM 1979 .... The Lighthouse Point Ammunition Depot was opened in 1892. It was the first outdoor ammunition depot in Florida. The depot served as a storage and distribution center for both military and civilian firearms until it closed in 1978.

Lighthouse Point has an interesting history that includes being both a lighthouse and a military base. The first lighthouse in Lighthouse Point was built in 1851 and was destroyed by a hurricane in 1884. A new lighthouse was built in 1886, but it also was destroyed by a hurricane the same year. In 1893, Lighthouse Point became a military base and remained so until 1898 when it reverted back to civil control. The last structure used as a lighthouse at Lighthouse Point was demolished in 1958. Today, Lighthouse Point is home to the Historical Museum which tells the story of Lighthouse Point from its early history to today. There are also several restaurants and businesses located within reach ofLloyd's Marina which offers boat tours for those interested in learning more about pirate treasure hunting or just spending some time afloat.

Ammunition manufacturing began in 1794 when Nicolas-Jacques Conte patented his Improvement To His Cannonball Gunsmithing machinery which allowed guns to be fired using smaller diameter projectiles than had previously been possible without disastrous consequences to the gunpowder charge inside the weapon itself; this gave rise to Rifle Firearm Munitions such as Ballsadammer[1] These munitions were mainly used against Infantry but also occasionally proved useful against Vehicles; however these munitions remained infantry only until 1814 when Royal Artillery introduced Naval Firewalls

Lighthouse Point is a town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,520 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tampa–St Petersburg–Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area. Lighthouse Point has been served by a lighthouse since 1836. The town began as a small fishing village on the mouth of Pinellas River and was first settled in 1839 by J.P. Gregg and his family. In 1865, Lighthouse Point became an incorporated town under the name of Stonington Landing after its founder's home in that community. The first lighthouse at Lighthouse Point was built in 1836 by Captain John Fortunato with assistance from Master Nicholas Gaudreau of New Orleans as part of construction on what would become known as Mobile Bay National Wildlife Refuge. After being moved from its original location to more northerly waters near Pensacola, Florida during the American Civil War due to Confederate blockadeading operations, the lighthouse again relocated to its present site in 1868 when it was rebuilt following damage sustained during Hurricane Andrew which struck Tampa Bay on August 15th of that year. A new keeper's house and automated equipment were installed at this time while also rebuilding private dwellings along the promenade which now forms part of downtown Lighthouse Point." In 1962, with funding provided by Gulfport businessman Drayton Webb through his Gulfport-based Coastal Zone Management Program initiative, modern day Coast Guard Auxiliary Station #5 was activated ashore at Lighthouse Point for coastal security purposes upon enactment of Publish Law 96-436 effective September 25th, 1966; thus becoming one of only two such auxiliaries afloat outside Continental US jurisdictions immediately prior to Federal Reorganization Act (FRA). This station supported law enforcement activities on both state and federal lands adjacent to Tampa Bay until 1997 when it transitioned full Coast Guard custody from State/Federal jurisdictional control back into National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration jurisdiction pursuant to section 7(a)(1)of Administrative Order No.(AO) 97-951; thus fully satisfying Congressional intent for NOAA jurisdiction ashore within Lake Okeechobeewatershed." LighthousePoint consists primarily of contributing single-family homes dating back to 1840s perched atop cobblestone cliffs overlooking Clearwater Harbor between 101st Street SW and 102nd Street SW with views towards Islamorada Strait & Key West Wyndham hotels (& those across Captiva Sound), Ferry Terminal Park & old US 1 bridge over Stonington Harbor Rd - accessible via public transportation (local buses run every 30 minutes or so starting off lower end lot just south side Catania Ave), local restaurants/bars/nightlife options right around corner from ferry terminal., shops/stores located inside city limits
