In 1911, the armory moved from its original location on High Street into a new building on County Road 5A. This move allowed them to offer more items such as pistols and revolvers, which increased the demand for their products. In 1916, Asmith & Sons purchased an additional property at 916 S Orange Blossom Trail. This new location allowed them to build a larger production line forholsters and accessories. Today, the armory is still in operation and offers a wide range of holster products including custom designs made just for you!
Leesburg is a small town in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 3,902 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami–Fort Lauderdale–Boca Raton Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name "Leesburg" is derived from Lee's Fork of the Apalachicola River. The first permanent settler in Leesburg was John Crouch who built a cabin on land that he purchased from the Creek nation in 1851. A post office called Lechesburg was established in 1854, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907. A millrace and dam powered by an underground stream were built to provide power for a sawmill operated by James Burtel near present day Lecompton Road and State Road 725 in 1892. The mill closed around 1915 when the sawmill became uneconomic due to competition from larger mills elsewhere in south central Florida. In 1906, developer Harry Byrd founded Byrd University with money he had saved from his successful campaign for governor of Virginia two years earlier. In 1922, Byrd sold the university to Jepson Investment Company for $2 million dollars ($ as of 2018). Jepson invested capital into real estate development and started construction on what would become one of South Florida's most prominent shopping districts – Pembroke Park – which opened its doors to students on October 15, 1928. The original building housed classrooms, laboratories, a library and many other features typical of academic institutions at that time including private dining rooms and full-time staff members responsible for instruction as well as maintenance and operations. Today Pembroke Park offers more than 1 million square feet (10 hectares) floor space retailing together with nearly 350 residential units including 98 percent market rate prices! The success of Jepson's investments led him to purchase another major shopping district – Doral – adjacent to Pembroke Park; this area now known as Quogue Hills began developing Phase II of its growth starting in the late 1950s becoming one of South Florida’s definitive suburbs with over 2 million square feet (120 hectares) under development today! Today,Leesburg remains a small community with a few hundred residents who rely on agriculture, fishing, tourism (particularly during Florida State Fair days), transportation services, and local businesses for their day-to-day lives. Although its economy has declined since 2000 thanks to competition from more populous towns surrounding it,Leesburg still provides opportunities for small business owners and entrepreneurs who are willing to work hard for their dreams.
