In 1865, the club added a shotgun to their roster and in 1896 they commenced manufacturing their own rifles and pistols. The company continued production until 1959 when it merged with another firearm manufacturer and ceased operations.

The first Europeans to visit what is now Leesburg were Spanish colonists who established a Fort Myers colony in 1565. In 1819, a group of Englishmen set out from Pensacola and landed on Miami Peninsula, seeking passage to Cuba via the Florida Keys. They named their new settlement after James Lees, one of these Englishmen. The first white inhabitants of Leesburg were residents of Pensacola who had come overland from South America during the late 1800s as part of the Bahia de San Felipe Expedition led by José Rizal. On November 10, 1927, General Wesley Clark's 3rd Infantry Division relieved US Marines guarding Coral Gables Naval Air Station while they conducted Operation Neptune's Spear against Japanese forces invading South Florida; this action helped end World War II in Asia and led to increased tourism in Leesburg as Americans began traveling back home commemorative displays and stories about Operation Neptune's Spear were common knowledge throughout the community Leesburgh High School opened its doors for students in 1930 and has been serving Poinciana Elementary through high school students ever since. Today’s students are represented by many juniors (2013-Present), seniors (2011-2013), graduate students (2008-2011) and two newly appointed assistant principals (2012-present).
