In 1894, The Rifleman Manufacturing Company merged with another company named Colt & Scott which became Colt Firearms Corporation. With this merger came a new product line entitled “Air Guns” which was introduced into the market by Colt Firearms Corporation on July 1st, 1896. This new product line consisted of six pistols- four single shot models and two revolvers- each with its own barrel and stock! These pistols were designed for personal protection and hunting purposes only! Air guns quickly gained popularity throughout America as they were relatively easy to operate and allowed individuals to experience an adrenaline rush while shooting small game or birds! By 1918, Colt Firearms Corporation had produced over 30 million Air Guns!

Leesburg is a town in Hardee County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,869 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jacksonville Metropolitan Statistical Area. Leesburg is located on the east coast of Florida just south of Jacksonville and west of Daytona Beach. Neighboring towns are Neptune City to the north and Ybor City to the south. The history of Leesburg can be traced back to 1827 when James Liles purchased land near what is now Leesburg from John Wilkinson. In 1838, Liles built a log cabin on his property which served as the first post office in Hardee County. In 1865, Tom Lee opened a general store at what is now Main Street in Leesburg and continued operation until 1868 when he sold his business to Jno Henson who operated it for four years before closing it down and moving away. In 1872 Trust Company Number One was organized with A B Smith as its first president and Wm Fenton as its second president. The company extended credit throughout central Florida for farmers who wanted to buy goods needed for their crops such as flour, bacon, cheese and tobacco products from nearby Tampa markets during that time period In 1901 corner grocery store Wm Fenton's Store was opened by Wm Fenton after purchasing an old grocery store building adjoining Main Street in downtown Leesburg from R & A Hepler This building still stands today serving as a commercial center providing retail services including groceries, gasoline (and related items) and tires In 1907 Dr C P Key convened a meeting at which he proposed that Leesburg become an incorporated town due to concerns about lack of water supplies available within hardee county . After much discussion it was decided that incorporation would not be beneficial toHardee County so Dr Key transferred his proposal to incorporation committee where it met several times but no action took place until 1912 when incorporation proceedings were finally authorized by vote of all members present with only one member dissenting . This organization created many new businesses including: Jno Henson's Store (now known as First National Bank), Harry's Hardware (now known as Lowe's Home Depot), Gulfstream Furniture(now Macy’s), Post Office (Now Sears), Evans Drugstore(later Wells Fargo bank) and Mrs Price’s Bakery(later Price’s Pantry). The first mayor was Mayor Dickson who served two terms beginning on January 1st 1914 until his death in 1916 . Other important members include: Mrs Price’s Daughter Della Vaught (1914-2020; Retired Schoolteacher),Mrs Price’s Son Leroy Price (1920-2014; Retired Truck Driver/Owner/Operator of Mr Price’s Grocery store since 1974),Dr Key’s Wife Mable Key (1914-2017; Retired Nurse) and MrPrice himself since 1971

On July 10, 1922, Leesburg became a city with a population of over 20,000 people when it merged with Jacksonville to form Jacksonville–Lee County (laterJacksonville) City Incorporated vowing to promote economic growth within its boundaries In 1957, Leesburg annexed the unincorporated communities of White Sands Beach and Wickham Heights which had both voted to secede from Lee County after being frustrated by slow development there while their towns remained municipally organized under county jurisdiction Leesburg's rapid growth has been credited with many early achievements such as: 1) The opening of Publix Supermarkets in nearby Lakeland in 1984 helped spur development around the town; 2) The completion of Interstate 95 through downtown Jacksonville in 1995 led to increased traffic and more businesses moving into town; 3) A major league baseball team arrived at Community Park in 2000 which helped spur redevelopment around that stadium; 4) An expressway connecting Interstate 95 and I-95A via exit 12th Street was completed in 2003 which has made it easier for people to get around town since it eliminated most daytripsnecessary previous route marches; 5) And now an economic renaissance is happening thanks largely to Millennials who are settling down here - they’re bringing businesses such as restaurants and bars along with them – making Leesburgh one of the best places for young professionals looking for starter incomes
In 1922, Leesburg was incorporated as a town and named for General James A. Lees. The first store in town was the Crystal Palace, which opened in 1925. In 1933, the name of the town was changed to Leesburg-Ft. Myers after General Robert E. Lee's home state of Virginia. The population grew rapidly due to new construction and land purchases by developers, and by 1940 there were over 200 residents in Leesburg proper and 375 people living in its annexed areas. Leesburg became an important military base during World War II because it had both airfields and a naval station. It also served as a center for agricultural production due to its location on the Everglades National Park and its good soils. After the war, many residents moved away from Leesburg because of increased traffic, pollution, or lack of available jobs; however, some remain today who maintain ties to the community through their businesses or professional associations.
