Lauderhill is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 26,463 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area and is located on the southwest coast of the county. The city is bordered by Kendall to the north and west; Doral to the south; Brickell to the east; and Coral Gables to the southeast. Lauderhill began as a small community on Broward Boulevard in eastern Miami-Dade County. It grew rapidly after World War II when veterans came home from war and purchased land in what is now Lauderhill Township. In 1956, it became one of two cities in Miami-Dade County (the other being Doral) when it was annexed by Miami Beach. In 1966, Lauderdale-Sunny Isles Airport was opened in northwest Lauderdale Lakes, making Lauderdale Hills an enclave within Lauderhill proper for residents who maintained their own airport property outside of city limits. In 1970, City Hall moved from its original location on Northwest Seventh Avenue into new facilities on Dearborn Street northeast of downtown which remain today as City Hall Annexe. The first gun target shoots were held at Sunnyside Park behind City Hall on October 2nd 1909 with twelve guns including six shotguns (a 12ga shotgun being added later). That same year a shooting range opened near Sunnyside Park and quickly became popular with local professionals due to its short driving distance to many targets across town including churches and hospitals (which then could be reached by car or bus). By 1911 there were five ranges open throughout Lauderhill with over 150 shooters each!

In 1907, the Lauderhill Rifle Club purchased the land that is now the former Target Center. The club used this location until 1971 when they moved to their current location on NW 3rd Street.

However, with continued support from local residents, Lauderhill is hoping to regain its former glory as one of Florida's most vibrant communities.

As a result, Lauderdale-Hillsborough county officials have been working hard to develop plans for an expansion of the city's boundaries beyond its current limits; these plans are currently being pursued through various zoning proposals which could eventually lead to its incorporation into the City of Miami proper.
