Lauderdale Lakes, Florida is home to the world's second largest high capacity kit storage facility. The site is located on a 7.5 acre parcel of land in a rural area just outside of Jacksonville. The original storage facility was built in 1984 and was designed to handle more than 2 million pieces of equipment. The current high capacity kit storage facility is twice the size and has been able to accommodate over 6 million pieces of equipment since it opened. The site was first leased from US Steel Corporation in 1984 and then purchased by American Mfg Co., Inc. in 1990. In 1996, First National Bank took possession of the site and began using it as their bank branch location for metal working supplies and parts from steel mills across South Florida. In 1998, United States Steel Corporation sold their holdings in American Mfg Co., Inc., which became known as United States High Capacity Kit Storage Facility, LLC (UHCSF). UHCSF continued to operate as the owner of the site until it was acquired by Lauderdale Lakes Management District on February 1, 2016. The modern high capacity kit storage facility has an initial investment of $25 million dollars with plans to expand it up to 8 million square feet over time. The expansion will include new building that will house larger inventories of parts and equipment as well as a large garage that can hold up to 100 trailers per side for delivery or storage purposes. This project is expected to be completed by 2021 with an initial impact on local businesses who will be able to store more inventory near them while also providing access to better customer service should they need help moving items around or order something they don't want but can't get at home because its out-of-stock at your local hardware store!

Lauderdale Lakes is a city in Broward County, Florida, United States. The population was 26,569 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area and is home to the University of South Florida (USF). Lauderdale Lakes was one of several communities that were consolidated into Broward County in 1959. Lauderdale Lakes was founded on November 10, 1892 by William Lauderdale and his brother-in-law James Bigham as a town in western Broward County. It became a city on December 1, 1959, when it amalgamated with other communities in what is now Miami-Dade County. In 1969, USF moved from its original campus on Northwest Third Street to an expanded campus east of I-95 near Interstate 5/SR 95 south of Sunrise Boulevard. The university's first president was Rear Admiral John Linton who served for 37 years until his death in1999. One reason for Linton's long tenure was USF's strong relationship with Lockheed Martin which had been headquartered in Fort Worth until 1957 when it relocated to Plantation and then Dania Beach before relocating again to Fort Lauderdale in 1985. After Linton's death many members of the Lockheed Martin executive team donated their time and money to help improve USF's facilities including constructing new athletic fields as well as renovating existing ones. The economy of Lauderdale Lakes has been heavily reliant upon service industries such as retail trade; manufacturing; construction; agriculture; and tourism since its inception including major events like the Pompano Beach Open Air Market which takes place every year around Christmas time.; however recent economic downturns have impacted this base substantially while increasing joblessness rates among those employed within these sectors statewide

It also boasts one of the most popular beaches in Florida with crystal clear waters perfect for swimming and sunbathing; an active nightlife scene complete with live music venues; busy commercial strips; high-end stores including Neiman Marcus, Macy’s and Sears; luxurious homes; stately old plantations dating back to before Florida acquired its current land grant from Spain in 1898; as well as several golf courses dotting the landscape providing plenty of opportunities to play golf year-round or during warm months when temperatures reach 75 degrees or higher!
Lauderdale Lakes was founded in 1871 by James P. Lauderdale, a wealthy lawyer and landowner who also owned the nearby town of Lauderdale. The name comes from Lauderdale River, which flows through the community. The town growth began due to the development of its railroad station, which became an important transportation hub for farmers and entrepreneurs in the early 20th century. In 1928, the first grocery store opened in Lauderdale Lakes and it quickly became one of the most popular shopping destinations in Florida. By 1945, when radar technologywas introduced to Florida, Lauderdale Lakes had become a center for research and development at Tallahassee's then-new missile plant. In 1957, Sunrise Drive was designated as a primary street in honor of General Douglas MacArthur who had spent many years living in nearby Gainesville before becoming president of America. The city limits were expanded to include portions of Coral Gables and Miami Beach after World War II ended; however, these expansions did not bring about significant population growth within the city boundaries until later decades.
