Other large employers include Delta Air Lines with over 100 employees working out of four terminals at Miami International Airport; JetBlue Airways with more than 60 employees working out of three terminals at JFK airport; Southwest Airlines with more than 30 employees working out of one terminal at Pompano Beach Airport

Lantana, Florida is located in Seminole County, Florida and was founded by the Lantana Company on October 1, 1822. The town was named for the Brazilian lantana (Bolivia jalapa), a type of palm tree that is common in this area. The Bolsa de Florida Railway reached Lantana in 1868. Lantana developed as a small post office and cotton plantation community until it became an incorporated municipality on December 17, 1902. On January 2, 1907, Lantana became part of Miami Beach when it was annexed into Miami Beach County. The name "Lantana" comes from the Portuguese word "lanta" meaning 'delta' or 'shoreline'. The Spanish word "lanta" also means 'delta' or 'shoreline'. In 1886 the Lanticano Brothers Brewing Company started brewing beer at their brewery site in Lantana and placed an advertisement in the Miami Herald announcing that they were beginning to produce beer made with lanta leaves (the original beer). At first only white people could purchase lanta beers but eventually they began being produced by colored people as well. The first post office at LANTANA opened on October 1, 1822. It served as a stop on the Bolsa de Florida Railway and closed on July 15, 1924; however, it reopened one week later on October 8th after reopened switch #5 at mile marker 10A-10B which had been destroyed by a fire years earlier. From its inception until 1912 there was only one mail carrier service per day between Miami Beach and LANTANA so citizens often sent messages using signs that were attached to trees next to the road or posts near the post office building while passengers waiting for their mail rode horses back and forth between both towns. Mail from other parts of South Florida was delivered via boat upriver to Fort Lauderdale during this time frame. After becoming an incorporated municipality on December 17th 1902LANTANA enjoyed some stability with two mayors until 1949 when it saw another explosive growth due to annexation of neighboring towns such as Doral/DowntownMiami (1902), Cutler Ridge (1904), Sunrise Lakeshares(1906)and Pembroke Pines (1907). With no postal service available except horseback riding to bring mail back & forth residents would send large quantities of messages through skywriting techniques which still remains an active practice today! In 1957 Hurricane Donna passed through landfall over southern Florida killing more than 60 people including many residents of Huntington Beach who lived just outside Hurricane's path before reaching mainland United States soil
Lantana was founded in 1894 by J.W. Lantana and his wife, Emma. The Lantanas were a family of farmers who turned their land into citrus groves. In 1898, the Lantanas bought a plantation in western Florida and named it Lantana Plantation after their plantation in southern Louisiana. They grew citrus fruits and made a small fortune from the business. In 1916, the Lantanas sold their Lantana Plantation to John H. Lauder and his wife, Ida Biddle Lauder for $1 million dollars. John H. Lauder was an American industrialist who had built up a large shipping empire in the 1920s and 1930s. He owned several businesses including Allied Glass Company, Drexel Burnham Lambert Steel Company, The Philadelphia 76ers basketball team, and various other interests throughout North America. Lauder turned the property into a luxury resort called Lauderdale Place which became one of Florida's most popular tourist destinations during the early 20th century. After World War II ended, Lauderdale Place became an amusement park known as "The Beach" which later evolved into Universal Studios Hollywood theme park
