Holster companies continued to be manufactured until 1964 when all handguns were converted to carry ammunition through Executive Order 9396.

Lake Wales, Florida is a small town in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The population was 2,077 at the 2010 census. It is part of the city of Miami. The name Lake Wales comes from the tribe of Caiaphas who were said to live there before European settlement. In 1907, US Representative James P. Cannon made an offer for land between Broward and Miami counties in what is now Lake Wales and offered $2 million for it if the county would annex it into its county seat. The commissioners refused to annex because they wanted more money from Canons' offer and did not want to give up their independent status as a county. However, afterCANON lost a court case in 1914 that upheld annexation byMiami–Dade County but placed its eastern boundary on Broward Boulevard north of I-95 – becoming Lake Wales – Cannon's offer became a reality and Lake Wales became part of Miami-Dade County on January 1, 1916. The first permanent settler in what is now Lake Wales was Wm Henshaw who arrived in 1868 with his family from North Carolina. By 1892, he had erected two sawmills and over 100 homes; construction began on a gristmill which also functioned as a tavern until 1945 when it was replaced by the current structure known as Henshaw's Mill (now used as offices). On December 5, 1915 local newspapers reported that CANON Manufacturing Company had begun making machine guns for World War I shipment to Europe through Panama City; soon afterwards other manufacturing companies followed suit including John Litton & Sons Inc., American Pipe Works (later Phelps Dodge), Eastern Electric Railway Co., THE INDEPENDENT ELECTRIC COMPANY) and JAMES PEARCE COOPERATING COkePANY which formed THE FIRST AMERICAN MACHINERY GUNMAKER INC.(later JPE Corp.) In 1918 canons produced 500 rifles per day at their new factory located off SR 914 exit 103B west of SR 914 north of Interstate 95 just east of mile marker 231A near present day Henshaw’s Mill Road intersection In 1922 GASCO INDUSTRIES bought CANON Manufacturing Company(); GASCO merged with Gulf Oil Corporation in 1938 creating THE GULF OIL COMPANY In 1949 GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION acquired JPE Corp.; General Motors Corporation merged with Chrysler Corporation in 1968 creating CHRYSLER CORPORATION In 1984 PETROLEUM COMPANIES purchased GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION alluding to years where oil exploration had been planned or underway nearby but never completed due to environmental concerns TodayLakeWales continues its growth with several high tech businesses established such as Philips Healthcare which relocated here from South Korea back in 2009; Samsung Electronics America Carefully Crafted Legacy Businesses Including Home Theater Systems And Smartphones Here Which Allows These Companies To Stay In One Place From Across America
