Glock USA LLC manufactures handguns under three brands: G3 (general purpose), P229 (a 9mm pistol) and 1911 (a handgun).

In 1925 the city became part of Miami-Dade County and experienced rapid growth due to its location on the Stonington Canal and its close proximity to Interstate 95. Development slowed during the Great Depression but resumed following World War II when demand for military housing increased. The city reached its peak population during the late 1990s and early 2000s as a result of its role as a shopping center, entertainment district, and business center for south Miami-Dade County. Today, Lake City has struggling economy with falling land values and limited development opportunities since becoming an unincorporated community inside Miami-Dade County.

Lake City is a city in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 5,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando metropolitan area. The town of Lake City was founded by pioneers in 1837 as a trading post on the south side of Choctawhatchee River. The first store opened in 1838 and the first school in 1840. In 1845, land was donated to build a permanent settlement and name it Lake City after local hero General Andrew Jackson's estate on Chickasaw Bayou near present-day Live Oak Gardens. In 1850, the first post office was established here and remained open until 1912 when it was moved to Gainesville. In 1886, Mayor J.H. Dyer organized a citizens' committee to erect a public square here for public purposes which grew into what is now downtown Lake City with its five blocks of streets named after local pioneers: Pritchard (1887), Beasley (1889), Knight (1890), Bagley (1892), and Withers (1912). A fire destroyed much of downtown in 1904 but new buildings were erected rapidly due to donations from business owners and citizens alike and today Downtown Lake City retains its original appearance with high-rise apartment buildings, several large hotels/motels, two banks/grocery stores/theaters/restaurants belonging to one chain only - Giuseppe's Pizza & Pasta on Main Street between Noble Avenue and Independence Boulevard - numerous small businesses clustered around First Baptist Church on West Orange Avenue - various civic organizations have their headquarters or meetingshere including Chamber of Commerce chambers across University Drive from First Baptist Church; LakeCity Civic Association administers all city services including zoning regulation; benefits are provided by city parks such as Panther Swamp Recreation Area adjacent Interstate 495; water supply comes from Seminole Creek east of I-495 On January 1st 1893 residents voted 3-1 to secede from Polk County over county government monopoly issues In 1907 an act was passed giving lake city status within Polk County On July 8th 1913 voters approved annexation by Kissimmee Township
