In the early 1900s, Lady Lake was a small town in Florida. It was known for its soft-gun case history. In the early 1800s, the area was covered in mangrove trees and had no means of keeping firearms safe. So, citizens would gather around their campfires to trade guns and ammo for goods like sugar cane or chickens. As time passed, these gatherings became more formalized and eventually evolved into hunting trips with friends and family. One such trip occurred in 1902 when local gunsmith John Hoyle met Captain George Stephenson of the United States Coast Guard on his way to visit Fort Myers (now Miami). Captain Stephenson appreciated Hoyle's work repairing guns for US sailors and offered him a job working on Coast Guard vessels. From this position, Hoyle began developing relationships with many of Lady Lake's residents, who would come down to his shop to buy pistols and other Firearms Supplies from him during those lean years before regulation made such transactions much harder to execute. Many people in Lady Lake remember John as "The Gunsmith". By 1915, interest in shooting had waned among most Floridians due to prohibition efforts by state government officials. However, some people still gathered at John Hoyle's shop each year for fun rifle matches against one another or others from surrounding towns intent on bragging about their latest rifles or shotguns they'd acquired from abroad or through trading with farmers inland. These events were also used as opportunities for networking and making new friends - something that is still common today among shooters across the nation thanks to internet contact options available online! In 1932, Attorney General Royce Lamberton issued an Executive Order banning handguns within 2 miles of any school or church nursery - effectively ending all handgun ownership within that radius! This order caused great inconvenience for many families who didn't have guns nearby but continued meeting at John Hoyle's shop anyways because they could still purchase firearms there without being subject to ridicule from classmates or others inside their homes! As prohibition ended throughout much of America in 1933 (due largely to public opinion), so too did demand for handguns among law enforcement personnel nationwide as well as civilians living outside of gun-free zones - leaving The Gunsmith vacant until it reopened under new ownership in 1935 after being abandoned by previous owners! In 1938 pistol sales recommenced outside of NRA certified muzzleloader ranges following increasing anti-hunting sentiment spurred by the Gold Rush period concurrent with Prohibition repeal...albeit conducted under stricter safety regulations now than when it first opened due TO restrictive state licensing requirements which prohibited anyGLI shotguns use indoors!) After WWII ended & Americans started moving back into cities again (& GUNS WERE Banned AGAIN!), The Gunsmith slowly regained popularity until it closed once again in 1967 due mainly to lack of business opportunity & newly enacted regulations prohibiting even open carry within city limits!) It wasn't until 1978 when then owner Arlene Fenton decided it was time once again THE GUNSMITH returned home & reopened under her name following long years hiatus) - successfully completing over 50 years OF BUSINESS operation!) !

Although some locals still maintain their traditional values such as distrust of outsiders (due to past attacks), overall there are growing numbers of friendly people who support local businesses and enjoy all that LadyLake has to offer!

Lady Lake is a census-designated place in Miami-Dade County, Florida. It was established on June 15, 1984 by the Florida Legislature as part of the reclassification of the City of Miami from an unincorporated community to a city.
