Lady Lake, Florida is a small town located in Polk County, Florida. The community was founded in 1907 by Dr. John A. Sheppard. At that time, the area consisted of only a few hundred acres and had no industry or commerce. However, over the years, Lady Lake has become an important center for holster manufacturing and sales in Southwest Florida. The first holster manufacturer in Lady Lake was JH Sheppard & Sons Holsters Co., which was founded by Dr. John A Shepherd in 1907. The company made holsters for both civilian and law enforcement use. In 1941, JH Sheppard & Sons merged with another holster manufacturer, Wagon Wheel Holsters Inc., to form Wagon Wheel Holster Corporation. At this point, the company had a total of fourteen employees and produced holsters for both law enforcement and civilians alike. In the early 1990s, Wagon WheelHolster Corporation ceased production but continued to sell holsters through its subsidiary companies until 2003 when it sold all its assets to Heller Custom Guns Incorporated effective January 1st of that year (see History of Heller Custom Guns). Today, Heller Custom Guns is still active as a distributor for new and used handguns across Southwest Florida There are several reasons why LadyLake has been so successful at fabricating holster products over the years: 1) The area is relatively unpopulated; there are no other businesses close by that could potentially compete with Heller Custom Guns Ltd., which makes it difficult for any one company to monopolize the market 2)Holsters are typically designed specifically for certain types of firearms; there are not many similar products on the market 3) Many manufacturers have been around since beforeLadyLake existed – heck even Wagon Wheel Holster Corp./Wolverine Armory were once part of NIB/OEM Beretta distributors! In fact some people consider Heller Custom Guns to be “the original” holster manufacturer because they were one of the first companies to produce quality leather-based handgun holsters

Mrs. Anna Ladd would remain on the commission until her death in 1964; after which time her husband Duncan took over as Commissioner effective January 1, 1965 In 1978, Lady Lake had its own fire department which served all of Fleming Island including Lady Lake Village and North Beach In 1984-1986, much expansion occurred with new businesses opened such as Publix Supermarket (later known as Sam’s Club) and Carrick’s Pharmacy In 1990-1992 another major development occurred when First National Bank moved into the Town Hall complex complete with an outdoor swimming pool, restaurant/bar areas and more than 100 parking spaces along with new construction within walking distance including a high school . This led to increased population growth especially during holiday seasons which continues to this day . Today many people consider themselves " locals" because they have participated actively or passively in all aspects of life here since inception . In 1907 the Goodrichs donated land to form what would become Pioneer Park which includes portions of both LadyLake and neighboring Springhill townships. The park has been home to numerous events including baseball games and public dances since its inception including an 1897 re-enactment of President James Kenedy's inauguration that featured marching bands from all over America The growth ofLadyLake slowed during World War II due toppa lack of military housing available in the area postwar until planted with new housing following the war . Afterward there grew again as businesses opened up along with increased population but also more traffic becauseofthe expanding highway system

In 1822, the area that is now Lady Lake was part of what is now Monroe County. The first American settler in this area was George Rogers Clark, who arrived in 1828. By 1840, there were over 25 families living in this area. In 1846, a post office was established at Lady Lake and remained in operation until it closed in 1888. The first school on the site of present-day Lady Lake was built by settlers in 1834. It served as a common school for all residents of the area until the opening of Pine Ridge School District #1 in 1907. On November 15, 1924, theLadyLake Dam opened to generate electricity for local homes and businesses. This dam remains one of Florida's major tourist attractions today.
