In 1916, General James Wilkinson’s grandson died suddenly at age 58 after a long illness which left him incapable to manage his farm or attend to business responsibilities. His wife kept the property until her death in 1951, when it passed through her daughter Alice Wardon to their son Alfred Pritzker Jr.. After Alfred Pritzker Jr.'s death in 1966, it passed through his sister Leslie Wardon to her niece Sylvia Plath Plath before passing through her inheritance to my mother when she married my father in 1978.
