Gun ranges were closed during World War II due to lack of manpower or equipment; however, they reopened after hostilities ended. The preserved remains of Admiral William Jarratt's USS Constitution can still be seen at Point Breeze Marina; she was converted into an airgunnery school during World War II before being sold again in 1959 and placed into storage near Miami Beach until she was donated to the University Museum Of Art at Miami Beach in 2002-2003).
