The Jacksonville Beach Pistol Club was formed in 1903. The pistol club meets each month to shoot pistols and discuss safety issues. In 1934, the Jacksonville Beach Pistol Club purchased a rifle range. This range is still in use today and has been used for target shooting, skeet, and deer hunting. The pistol club also purchased a shotgun range in 1945 which is still in use today as well. In 1947, the Jacksonville Beach Pistol Club organized its first formal meeting. At this meeting, it was decided that there should be a committee established to study handgun safety regulations. This committee developed the current ordinance that governs handgun possession and use within the city of Jacksonville Beach. Since its inception, the Jacksonville Beach Pistol Club has been an important part of Gun Culture in Jacksonville Beach! Every month they meet to discuss safety concerns with other members of the community and work towards advancing responsible gun ownership within our city!

Jacksonville Beach is a city located on the St. Johns River in Jacksonville, Florida. The population was 105,898 at the 2010 census. It is the fourth-largest city in Florida and it forms part of the Jacksonville–Bermuda–St. John's Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). The original residents of Jacksonville Beach were Indian citizens who settled along what is now Governors Avenue in 1824. They were followed by white settlers in 1840 and 1851, when a canal was built through present-day Jacksonville to provide raw materials for shipbuilding and other industrial endeavors in nearby Mobile Bay. The first post office was established in 1853 and named after James Kenedy, an American Revolutionary War general and founder of Miami, Florida. By 1860, all of the Indian citizens had been killed or driven away by white settlers who claimed the peninsula for Spain as part of its Floridas Purchase from France; however, Negroes continued to live there until 1865 when they were ordered out by Confederate General Nathaniel Peebles because he felt they would undermine his efforts to hold Onslow County against Union troops during the Civil War. In 1865 Jaxonans voted overwhelmingly to secede from Alabama under the leadership of Mayor William Daley; this event led to World War I which began two years later with Germany's declaration of war on America on April 6th, 1917 After World War II ended and newly formed Florida became a state in December 1947, Jacksonville Beach became one of its initial cities within that state's Third District boundaries. In 1957 it annexed parts of Stonington Township northward including current day Fourth Ward; this annexation created Jacksonville Beach's current borders southward as well as incorporating land northwestward past First Ward into Fourth Ward since Third District boundaries then stretched only east-west beyond that point according as far north as University Boulevard (now Federal Highway 95) while housing developments rapidly developed east-west along Federal Highway 95 between Atlantic Boulevard/Nashville Road/University Drive (now First Street) and Washington Boulevard/Old McAllister Landing Road (now Veterans Memorial Parkway). 2nd District boundaries following November 3rd 1960 congressional map redefined due to population growth caused by baby boomers moving into central FL during those years The City Council first met on July 1st 1916 with Wm Stevenson presiding over their discussion about organizing themselves into "a municipal corporation". The name chosen for what would become known today as Jacksonville Beach was not decided until much later - likely because no one could get consensus on a good name for an inland town located on both sides of Interstate 10! After some backandforth voting members finally selected "Jacksonville" based off evidence that "the river [would] be our best symbol". That same year local physician Dr Samuel Haines donated land just northeast of downtown for civic use – becoming home to North Memorial Park today – making possible what would become known as North Point Park across from Navy Pier where commerce flourished during early 20th century downtown development ashore while military activity centered near Naval Station Islamorada offshore . The first Europeans to visit Jacksonville Beach were in 1564, when Giovanni da Verrazano sailed into the Gulf of Mexico. Spanish explorers and traders followed soon after, and by 1630, Jacksonville had become a thriving port on Florida's Gulf Coast. In 1814, the United States acquired Florida from Spain as part of the Adams-Onís Treaty. The area that now includes Jacksonville was designated as part of the new state of Florida, and started to grow rapidly. By 1828, Jacksonville had reached its peak as a commercial center with wharves along both coasts serving vessels from all over America. However, during the 1830s and 1840s there were several major hurricanes that devastated parts of South Florida including Jacksonville. In 1849, following Seminole Wars between U.S. government forces and Native Americans in what is known as the "Florida War," most of what is now downtown Jacksonville was burned down following an American victory at Palo Alto Bridge over Fort Brooke Creek in what is known as Battle Creek Massacre. This event marked an important turning point for Jacksonville because it destroyed much of its old economic infrastructure which would have taken years to rebuild or replaced Jacksonville's rebirth began in earnest around 1850 however it wasn't until 1907 that city hall was built on present day State Street across from Clearwater Naval Air Station that growth truly ensued In 1924 the University of Central Florida was founded here in memory of Samford University Class Of 1923 who donated land for UCF's first campus . The original buildings on this site were dedicated in 1927 but student enrollment only commenced in 1933 In 1951 local builder Denny Reardon constructed one of North America's largest concrete piers which became home to many varieties of businesses including two banks cashing out their notes for $1 each
