Holly Hill, Florida is a small town in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 7,521 at the 2010 census. It lies within the Miami-Dade County metropolitan area and is bordered by Doral to the north and west and Kendall to the south. The community began as a farmers' market on Walton Boulevard in 1959. In 1974, it became Holly Hill Elementary School; that year also served as its namesake. The school closed in 2008 but reopened as part of Broward Preparatory School District No. 1's (BP1) new elementary school district which merged with Palm Beach Gardens-Ft Worth Independent School District No. 2 (PG-FTSD2) in 2013. In early 2011, BP1 decided to sell Holly Hill Elementary School property to developer David Beckham for $27 million;[1] the sale included 8 acres of land adjacent to the school that had been used for training horses since 1957.[2][3] In October 2014, it was announced that construction will begin on a private hospital complex called "HospitalHill" which will include 210 medical office and patient rooms,[4][5] cloakrooms[6] and an observatory atop one of its buildings for doctors who will perform surgery outside of general anesthesia using technology from Oculus Rift VR headset products created by Facebook Inc., making this one of only a few such hospitals in the world operating under this type of guidance.[7][8][9] In 2016, HospitalHill LLC filed plans with state regulators to construct 265 apartment units on 12 acres adjacent to HospitalHill's hospital campus;[10][11] no permits have yet been issued for construction or occupancy although approvals are pending from both state officials and local councils who controls zoning around Holly Hill Village Center - a planned retail/entertainment complex scheduled to be built on much of what is now farmland - giving rise speculation that HospitalHill may seek building permits there instead given its location within walking distance (and potentially other amenities) of Disney World Resort Orlando Airport

In 1928, Holly Hill was renamed for Mrs. John Fenton Holliday who donated $100 to help support local schools and also helped promote cultural events in the town such as dances and concerts at the nearby University of Florida (UF). After Mrs. Holliday's death in 1951, her donation was turned into an endowed fund which continues to be used today to support education in Holly Hill and throughout Central Florida
