Holly Hill is a small community in Polk County, Florida, United States. It is located on the Gulf of Mexico adjacent to Fort Myers. It was founded in 1837 by General James Wilkinson as a trading post and military camp on the high ground between two (then) Seminole villages. The first white person to live in Holly Hill was Major John Stoneman, who arrived in 1838. In 1840, Colonel John C. Frémont made an unsuccessful attempt to cross the Gulf of Mexico from Fort Myers and explore the region around Holly Hill; he left his horse behind at Holly Hill and never reached safety or return. In 1846, Aiken County was created from portions of Polk County; part of Aiken County would later be annexed into Miami-Dade County, Florida. With the arrival of white people in large numbers after Reconstruction began in America, alcohol became a major issue in Holly Hill and across much of South Florida. Because sugarcane was not yet developed hereabouts, beer and whiskey were popular drinkables during this time period Boston Bourbon Whiskey being especially well known among locals due to its rarity On July 20th 1865 Confederate general Robert E Lee surrendered at Appomattox Court House with only eight soldiers remaining following three days of combat including one day when they had to fight through thick undergrowth using whatever cover they could find before finally surrendering The townspeople quickly set about repairing what damage they could do as soon as possible; most importantly they needed to get food for their troops which had been stranded along the Peninsula for some weeks while supplies ran low They also started construction on what would become known as "The old courthouse" which still stands today outside of town limits
Holly Hill is a town in Monroe County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,912 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford metropolitan area. Holly Hill is located on U.S. Route 441 north of Kissimmee and east of Sanford. The first European settler in Holly Hill was John Smith in 1837. The present day town was founded on December 15, 1881 by Jock Fuller from New York City with his family as settlers on . A post office called "Holly" had been established in 1878 and was changed to "Holly Hill" on November 20, 1885. In 1907, the name change to its current form when it merged with the neighboring community of Sanford and became one municipality under the name of "Orlando". Orlando's central business district (CBD) began growth in early 1912 as development around the intersection of US 441 and Orange Blossom Trail led to an influx of businesses and people into what would become known as Holly Hill CBD. By 1925, all but two businesses within Holmes Chapel had moved to Orlando; however, there continued to be a strong commercial presence in HollyHill until after World War II when large-scale apartment building developments took over most storefronts downtown and away fromHolmes Chapel Road which served as a main artery linking both communities together until then

Holly Hill is a small town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 2,823 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Orlando metropolitan area. Holly Hill was founded in 1873 by English settlers who named it after their home village of Holly Cottage in Norfolk, England. The original store and post office were both located in the town square. A dam was built to create Lake Holly in 1907 and a water tower was built soon afterwards to support the community's water supply and generating plants. In 1924, a large shopping center - known as "The Promenade" - was established within walking distance of all of the town's businesses. In 1978, an amusement park called "The Grove" opened adjacent to The Promenade; it remains operational today as one of the few amusement parks left open in central Florida after being closed by Hurricane Andrew two years earlier.
Holly Hill was founded in 1892 by J.D. Holliday and his wife, Emma. The Hollidays were the first white family to live in Holly Hill, later adding a black family, the Walters. In 1916, the Hollidays sold their home to C.W. Post and moved away from Holly Hill for good. A year later, Post built a house on what is now State Road 585 in Holly Hill as his new home and renamed it after himself, posthaste making it one of only two homes in Holly Hill still known by that name today.
