In 1827, a store called The Arsenal was established in Holly Hill and it served as the nucleus of what would become the Holly Hill Rifle & Pistol Club. It was through this club that people began purchasing and using handguns specifically for target shooting. Over time, other clubs were created throughout the town, including the Archery Club in 1868, The Shotgun Club in 1879, and The Rifle & Pistol Club in 1907. In 1903, Congress passed an amendment to the United States Constitution that provided for universal background checks on all weapons sales. This amendment became known as “the Brady Bill” and it helped establish a system whereby citizens could not easily purchase firearms without submitting to a background check. This law has been amended many times since its enactment but has always remained effective at preventing gun violence.
Holly Hill is a small town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,826 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jacksonville metropolitan area. Holly Hill is named after an early settler, Mrs. Clements Holly. The first white settlers were fishermen who came to the area in 1843 from Jacksonville and established a trading post on Islet Key. In 1848, Mr. and Mrs. Jno Wickersham built a house on what is now State Road 478 near present-day Holly Hill High School; they are buried there in Evergreen Cemetery with their six children (all died young). In 1850, Captain John Moseley returned from his travels through North America and landed at Islet Key; he set up a store here and operated it until 1858 when he sold his interest to Elisha Goodloe Sr., one of the original proprietors of Jacksonville Landing (later known as Sun Trading Post). George Washington Goodloe Jr., also an original owner of Jacksonville Landing purchasedCaptain Moseley's store in 1861 and continued operation until 1870 when he sold it to Isaac Denton Fenton for $2,500 cash plus property value added tax assessed against it - this land would later become what is now State Road 478 . In 1860, Reverend Daniel Hinton founded First Baptist Church which served as the first church in Holly Hill.. Reverend Hinton preached here for over fifty years before moving to Tallahassee where he founded Second Baptist Church in 1892 Reviver Hinton left Holly Hill during World War II but his widow stayed behind and ran the church until her death in 1984 . In 1984 Reviver's widow donated all assets of First Baptist Church including property on which Holly Hill High School now stands to establish Hollyside Academy which became Hollyside Middle School then HollysideHighSchool only five years later becoming Hollyside Elementary School finally establishing Holyside Comprehensive SchoolDistrict 5A After serving as District 5A schools for over thirty five years we merged with district 6 bringing our total school system size up to 246 students grades PreK-12

Holly Hill is a small town in Marion County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,824 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee Metropolitan Statistical Area. Holly Hill was founded by settlers in 1851 and named for Mrs. A. J. Hill of nearby Winter Garden.[1] The first cotton crop in Marion County was produced in Holly Hill on October 17, 1853 by James Ritchie and his family from Kentucky. Mr. Ritchie's father had come to America with his family thirty years earlier as an indentured servant of the British East India Company. After working his way up through the ranks of the company, James Ritchie became owner and operator of a large plantation near modern-day Hillsborough City before buying and developing Holly Hill Plantation in 1851. The original home of Mrs. Aileen hills (Mrs John Fenton) still stands today on what was once the main avenue leading into town from rural sections east of Lake Eola to west of Kissimmee; it is a two-story country style frame structure dating back to 1881 with additions over time including two massive log chimneys that give it its unique look today[2]. The early days were difficult for both farmers and townspeople; many died during the Seminole Wars which raged throughout central Florida from1836 until 1865, when all Seminoles were removed from Florida under General Sherman's policy known as "Amerika". However, some aspects of life here survive such as horse racing which took place at Polo Park until 1954; one local man also ran a successful grocery store for more than fifty years[3]. In 1957 when Interstate 4 came through town including new shopping malls closer to Interstate 95 then there were any other places in Central Florida,[4], much progress has been made since then but much more still needs to be done especially given that most residents are African American Metros who continue1to face numerous challenges such as high poverty rates while white Floridians have seen significant socioeconomic progress over recent decades.[5] Despite these challenges however there are bright spots like their annual Christmas Parade which brings together nearly 150 parade participants along with floats made entirely outof recycled materials; or their community spirit which continues even after major events such as Irma hit last year leaving much destruction across central Florida[6].
