Although much has changed over ensuing years - including gentrification - Holly Hill remains an agricultural center with significant production of fruits and vegetables; industries that continue to play a role today include manufacturing pork bellies (a primary product) and electrical equipment manufacturing (ironing boards are now produced there). In recent years there have been efforts underway to revitalize Holly Hill through various projects such as development of new retail spaces along Jupiter Bayou Boulevard; increased use of renewable energy sources such as water heating through installation of solar panels on rooftops; and creation/maintenance/repair/maintenance services for local churches and other nonprofit organizations whose facilities sit atop large tracts of land near downtown. All these initiatives are intended to promote economic growth while preserving its historical fabric as a small-town American community rooted in agriculture dating back over 100 years
