The history of ammunition in Haines City, Florida began with the early development of firearms. In 1872, A.D. Griggs and Sons developed a rifle known as the “Griggs Rifle” in Haines City. This rifle utilized black powder cartridges that were used for hunting game and was very inaccurate. With the advent of the World War 1, however, Griggs Rifle manufacture resumed and new models were created utilizing more accurate rifles rounds such as White Powder cartridges which improved accuracy to a great degree. From 1917 until 1934, Haines City had two ammunition manufacturers; Armoury Ammunition Company and Winchester Ammunition Company both located on Elm Street. Armoury Ammunition produced musket balls made from lead shot while Winchester produced shells for shotguns utilizing black powder which culminated in WWII when both companies merged into Browning Arms Corporation effective October 1st, 1941 under exclusive agreement between United States Government and Browning Arms Corporation Headquarters at 6405 NW First Avenue Suite 205 Miami Beach FL 33139-0001 (now part of North American Mfg Inc.) After WWII ended there was little market demand for these types of munitions so they ceased production until resurrected by ATK Ammo Industries Incorporated in 1984 as a subsidiary of ATK Weapons & Ammunition Corporation headquartered at 5500 Preston Road Kissimmee FL 32701 (now part of Walmart) where ATK produces brass case ammo intended for sporting purposes only as well as reloadable brass cases available throughout the continental U.S., Canada and Mexico through their network Of Retail Stores

In 1922, American Armory Corporation became National Firearms Association and the company name reverted back to Winchester Ammunition Company. In 1959-1960, Winchester AmmunitionCompany produced rounds for the U.S Navy that featured an orange flashhider which made it easier to see in low light situations when firing at seaplanes or submarines while underway
Haines City, Florida is located in Citrus County and it has a population of over 66,000. The city was founded in 1892 by J.P. Haines and his brothers, Leland and John Haines. The Haines brothers were the first white men to come to the area and they built a small town called Hainesville on what is now State Road 22. They also founded the school district that still exists today. The city was originally named for General James Moultrie, who fought in the Seminole Wars and then took up arms against Spain in 1818. Moultrie's grandson, Colonel Robert Haines presided over the first courthouse building in the city which was completed in 1907-08. By 1920, there were over 100 businesses operating in Hainesville with an average of 10 employees per business! In 1915-16, an express train service called "The Jacksonville Mail" served as transportation for goods between Jacksonville and Tampa Bay until it was discontinued due to World War I. In 1925-26, Interstate 95 was constructed through Citrus County which made life much more difficult for small towns like Haineesville because they couldn't get access to the freeway! Today, many of the original buildings from when Haineesville was a small town can be found throughout downtown including both the old post office (now used as a library) and Mr. Kipper's Bakery which is still open today! Today,Haineville has seen some great developments such as its own airport (Hannis Air Force Base), new housing developments (such as Creekside Village), extensive shopping malls (including one called "The Mall at Port Tampa"), numerous restaurant chains (including Olive Garden/Cajun Palace/Bayou Blues), professional sports teams (the Buccaneers/Tigers/Jaguars),and even a petting zoo! Haines City was founded in 1887 by George W. Haines and his family as a community on the Indian River. In 1916, it was renamed after Franklin D. Roosevelt and it became an important stop on the Democratic National Committee's (DNC) first national trip to campaign in 1932. After World War II, Haines City experienced growth as a center for agriculture and manufacturing; however, since 2000 it has been experiencing decline due to various factors including loss of jobs in those industries and a decrease in its tax base. In recent years, Haines City has made efforts to revive its economy through businesses such as tourism and development of new parks or attractions within its borders; however these efforts have not been successful enough to reverse the trend of decline seen over the past few decades. In addition to its declining economy, another issue that has caused concern for Haines City residents is their water supply which is aging and deteriorating significantly from previous years; this has led several local businesses to seek state-funded help with restoration projects.
