By 1829, there were severalGun Targets located throughout Gulfport. These targets featured iron sights and could be shot at any angle desired. In 1838, a new Gun Target Facility was built in Gulfport by J B Willinghams. This facility featured both iron sights and a revolving platform that allowed users to adjust their shots accordingly. This new Target Facility also helped increase business for Willinghams' businesses by allowing him to produce more accurate fireballs than ever before! Throughout the 1840s and 1850s, gun ranges continued To grow in popularity in Gulfport thanks largely to the newly-developed rifle industry. With so many people now available with rifles, Targets became an essential part of rifle range instruction! By 1861, there existed over twenty Gun Ranges in Gulfport!
