On November 5th 1850 – following an armed robbery at his store – Captn Michael Jackson became owner & director designate Fenton Key Block No 2nda Captain Jackson continued running Jameson Safe Sales until about 1860 when he sold out to Paine Brothers & Co.. From 1861 through 1865 - during which time Ft PIerce saw much bloodshed between Unionists/Southerners & Confederate forces due to skirmishes around MLK Boulevard (& adjacent E State Street) – there were no active armed robberies taking place inside our walls!
