It served as both an indoor (shooting) range and outdoor exhibition ground for local farmers until it burned down in 1969 also .

Grant's command at Pensacola when he took command of operations against Seminole Indian Territory northeast of Tampa Bay based on reports received from Captain John Smith's Expedition along with existing Indian strongholds near what is now Sarasota and Jupiter Beach on FSU’s Gulf Coast When Fort Myers became an incorporated city on December 3rd 1912 it had a population of only 9 people In 1916 local entrepreneur Jerald Peele organized plans for a typical American town center which included streetcars running down Main Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue; later called Centennial Boulevard; movie theaters across from each other on Oneida Street; banks all around downtown including Merchants National Bank building still standing today (now home to Publix Super Markets); post office opposite Masonic Temple; two hotels - Holiday Inn & Hilton Head Executive Tower - both built before World War II but never completed; tennis courts next door to Raytheon Missile Plant where many missiles were made during WWII including those used in Pearl Harbor Tampa Bay Times
