Rifle stocks History in Fort Lauderdale, Florida began with the first rifles being made here in 1892. The Fort Lauderdale rifle company was started by Colonel John Stroud and his son, Lieutenant Colonel John Stroud II. They manufactured rifles for the military and police forces of Florida. From 1902-1911, they produced over 100 different types of rifles including Thompson submachineguns, bolt action rifles, and shotguns. In 1907, a new armory was built on State Road 7 in Fort Lauderdale and the Rifle company changed its name to theFort Lauderdale Armory. The armory housed a variety of weapons including automatic pistols and machine guns as well as rifle stocks. In 1941-1945, during World War II, the Armory was also used to create ammunition storage facilities for what became known as “The Army Ammunition Plant” located just east of town on Wesley Chapel Boulevard. While at “The Army Ammunition Plant” the Fort Lauderdale Armory manufactured many types of firearms such as M1 Garand carbines, BARs (British Assault Rifles), Browning Automatic Rifles (BARs), Thompson Submachineguns ( Thompsons), M1911A1 revolvers/pistols/, Colt 1911 handguns/, FN 45 pistols/, Ruger American Target Pistols (/r/rifle_stocks). Today there is still some active production occurring at the Armory with new products being developed such as AR-15 lower receivers/. caliber assault rifles/, precision pistols/(Peretta 92FS/(Pistol grip/9mm)), sniper optics(Olympus ETX 100 /optical telescope)/. There are also a number of historical exhibits located within walking distance of both the Armory and State Road 7 which provide insight into firearm manufacturing from 1892 to present day.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida is a city located in southeastern Florida. The population was 1,815 as of the 2010 census. It is the second-largest city in Miami-Dade County and the third-largest city in Broward County. Fort Lauderdale's nickname is "The Beach City". The Port of Fort Lauderdale handles over 90% of all cargo shipped through Miami Harbor. The first Europeans to visit what is now Fort Lauderdale were Spanish explorers who landed on its coast in 1513 and 1514. For most of its history, Fort Lauderdale was an uninhabited territory controlled by Indians. In 1867, citrus growers founded a town called Belle Glade to service their plants near Boca Raton; this led to the name "Belle Glade" being given to the entire area around it. By 1915, however, there were only a few hundred people living in Belle Glade and development began towards what would become Fort Lauderdale proper. In 1925, developer Armistead Maupin built his famous Marriot Resort & Casino on State Road A1A – immediately north of today's downtown – which became one of South Floridas' leading tourist destinations for many years. As growth continued to increase throughout the 1960s and 1970s – spurred by new developments such as shopping malls and office parks – Fort Lauderdale got its first professional sports franchise when the Miami Dolphins moved from nearby Tampa Bay in 1976 to Sun Life Stadium (then known as Channel 7 Field). The late 1980s saw some high-profile events take place here such as Expo '88 which brought together more than 2 million people from around the world at two main sites: Hollywood Boulevard and Convention Center Drive;[2]and also Hurricane Andrew’s destructive storm surge that caused extensive damage along parts of Broward County (including much of downtown) on August 28th 1992 during peak tourist season;[3] both phenomena helped spur redevelopment along several key corridors including Atlantic Avenue/Ikea Way/US 41 corridor eastward into Kendall Park where numerous high-end stores soon sprang up alongside popular restaurants like Subway and Dominos Pizza.[4][5]

Fort Lauderdale was founded in 1845 by Captain John C. Hauler and his men as a military outpost on the banks of the Santa Monica River. The first permanent settler in what is now Fort Lauderdale was Nicholas de la Vega, who arrived in 1846. In 1848, David Denny built a trading post on Boca Raton Creek and named it for himself, after his home town of Boca Raton, Florida. This early settlement became known as "Denny's Bend." In 1854, Fort Lauderdale was renamed for Governor James K. Polk of Florida and its original site became the state capital. The fortifications that now make up part of Fort Lauderdale were built during this time to protect the city from attack by Seminole Indians. The first hotel in Fort Lauderdale was constructed at 1st Street and Western Avenue in 1868, followed by the first office buildings (First National Bank Building and Broward County Courthouse) in 1870-72. By 1888, Fort Lauderdale had over 100 businesses established within its boundaries. In 1898, Tampa Bay Area businessmen organized a group called the Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce to promote trade with Tampa Bay through marketing events such as fairs and exhibitions at various locations throughout downtown FtLauderdale
Fort Lauderdale was founded in 1893 when the United States Army Corps of Engineers built a fort on what is now Fort Lauderdale Beach. The first Americans to live in the area were two brothers, P.J. and John Doerr, who leased land from the Kaapanae tribe for $1 a year. In 1898, Fort Lauderdale was officially named after Major General James A. Brooke and became part of the newly created military post of Miami-Dade County. In 1902, Fort Lauderdale became an incorporated city with its own mayor and City Council. The first real development in Fort Lauderdale took place in 1916 when Captain Cecil Bogan donated land at Sunrise Boulevard and Northwest 2nd Avenue for a new shopping center called Bogan's Center that would become one of the most popular areas in town. In 1925, Fort Lauderdale merged with neighbouring county of Miami-Dade to form Miami-Dade County government which still exists today as the governing body for Broward County
