Washington left his mark on both this town and USF with donations to both institutions that continue to influence today's community: he funded an art museum (now called The University Museum), donated land for USF's football stadium (now used asarschmidt Arena), founded a soup kitchen in memory of his mother – still operation today – endowed a scholarship at USF for African Americans, started construction on what would becomeStudent Union Building; philanthropy characterized many aspects of his life including education reform prior to becoming Governor Of Alabama In 1965 In 1914 developer Julius Rosenwald purchased 1/4 acre from Mrs McCarty along State Road 12 across from Upson Park for $2 cash plus services rendered as general contractor on new shopping center planned by Rosenwald & Company which included office buildings housing various departments connected through underground tunnels; this project failed due primarily to lacklustre planning & competition from better funded projects elsewhere within city limits; Rosenwald later opened world’s first food court inside then existing Trump International Hotel & Tower complex adjacent courthouse lawn

Florida City is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. It was founded in 1907 by Ewell J. Bennett and died in 1928. The population was 514 at the 2010 census. As of the 2016 census, it had an estimated population of 1,824. The first people to live in what is now Florida City were Seminole Indians who arrived there from present-day Tampa Bay area around 1810. The first European settlers were Spanish traders and soldiers who established a trading post near what is now Tamiami Trail Avenue in 1825. In 1907, Ewell J. Bennett acquired land south of downtown Miami on which he built a house and small town called "Florida City". In 1921, after years of planning and construction, Bennett's community was completed as a planned town with high school (now Broward High School), churches (St Joseph's Roman Catholic Church and First Baptist Church), businesses (Bennett Builders Supply Company, Wernham Oil Refinery & Machine Works), a library (later theMiami Herald Building) and homes for up to 100 citizens. Unfortunately during World War II many residents left for military service or because they could not afford to leave their homes due to rationing regulations; however most returned home after the war ended. In 1951, when Miami-Dade County became part of the United States following passage of the National Defense Act, Florida City became its newest county seat with full voting rights under state law as well as its own police department and fire department within Miami-Dade Fire District No..1 which had jurisdiction over all unincorporated areas east of Biscayne Boulevard – including Florida City proper – north beyond Biscayne Boulevard until 1984 when that district was abolished . In recent years much attention has been given to preservation efforts associated with plans for housing projects located adjacent to Interstate 95 just outside Flagler Beach on portions of what once constituted Polk County; those developments would have eliminated much open space within Flagler Beach limits if approved However any development that does occur will be subject to local zoning laws which should prevent clearance or demolition of significant Native American artifacts or cultural heritage still extant among these communities
