In 1892, Manuel Castro founded an agricultural colony called Castroville on what is now Indian Hill Road near where today's University Parkway meets US 1A (then State Road 4), about two miles west of present-day Fernandina Beach. Fidel Castro moved his family there in 1948 when he inherited some properties from his father as part of their matriculation into Cuban citizenship under Fidel Castro's new political system which gaveiblings special rights apart from siblings born to parents who were also citizens). After Fidel's death in 2013, his brother Raúl took over leadership of Cuba and many assets including propertyowned by Fidel were seized by the government as part of this process The first post office opened at Fernandina Beach on January 26 1902 with mail service coming twice daily from Havana Martinique via boat to Key West along with goods arriving off shore through Port Everglades until 1915 when regular mail service began using steamship Fiumara which arrived every Wednesday morning until 1946 when it was discontinued due to high water levels inside the harbor caused by hurricanes Wilma and Frances On October 17 1954 local entrepreneur Wanda L ammunition manufacturer Aiken set up shop on First Street downtown opposite current day City Hall across from Yacht Club which she operated until her retirement in 1984 that year During her tenure most local businesses consolidated into one place - it was then known as Wanda L & Son Incorporated - making it one point market shopping center with over 50 stores including several anchor brands such as Sears Roebuck & Co., JCPenney & Co., Stetson Hat Company, Montgomery Ward & Co., IBM PC’s etc... She left behind an legacy that continues today with various nonprofit organizations active throughout downtown district including: Wanda L Children’s Foundation (WLFC), Plaza Developmental Services District No 2 (PDSD2), American Cancer Society/Brevard County Chapter (ACS/BCC) etc... Today much activity takes place within walking distance including several restaurants/bars/cafes close to city hall plaza complete with large indoor pool providing ample opportunity for relaxation long after work hours are done... In 1952 Dr. David Levy became interested in helping found a pediatric hospital so he purchased 5 acres adjacent to existing Pompano beach cancer ward and set about building what would become Serenity Valley Hospital - now Seminole Hills Memorial Hospital - originally designed as an experimental pediatric unit only housing 10 patients but quickly becoming overwhelmed due to demand! Levy soon realized that if he could build a better hospital then maybe he could make money off it so he started construction on another project; Seminole Hills Medical Center! This time plans called for more than 1000 beds instead of 100 only but still not enough so Levy borrowed $20 million dollars from Canadian bank Royal BankAmericana which became locked out during economic recession leading to failed investment resulting not only in loss but also insolvency causing considerable financial damage Furthermore Levy spent years trying unsuccessfully to get funding again before finally giving up altogether leaving Seminole Hills Medical Center without any real estate or medical equipment remaining... Today this failure still haunts Levy 20 years later as Seminole Hills Memorial Hospital has been sold multiple times and never enters profitability despite being said by many To be one Of The Most Unhealthy Hospitals In The Country! There have been efforts made numerous times over past decade or more but no success yet apparently because somebody wants royalties FROM THE HOSPITAL!!! An article entitled "When history repeats itself: Sanford Breen fails again at developing Seminole Heights Medical Center" published online June 08th 2017 offers interesting insight into why failed investment led to failed development attempt at SEMC even though other investors wanted equity rather than debt.. It provides background information about Levy's unsuccessful attempts prior thereto noting that Sanford Breen had been involved previous in similar projects such as purchasing land adjacent Pompano beach for Serenity Valley Hospital (!), failing multiple times previously TO GET FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR A NEW MENTAL HEALTH CENTER IN SEMINOLE HILLS?!!!) However back then everyone associated with these failures did NOTHING ABOUT SUCH A UPWARD TRADE MARKET RISK?!?! An article headlined "Californians Approve Bill To Let Saudis Investigate Health Care Fraud" published online July 06th 2016 discusses how state lawmakers responded favorably last year when representatives introduced a bill allowing Saudi investors access to investigations into health care fraud involving Californians seeking treatment abroad

He mapped much of what is now Escambia County and named many plants after friends or family members including palm trees (a species he collected), laurel bushes (native to North America), white oaks (a type of oak found in this region) and several streams that later became known as Andrews Creek, Putnam Creek, Warrenton Creek and even today's Putnam Lake - all still extant within sight or reach from their original location at current day Fernandez beach! In 1830s Captain John Iden established himself at Fincastle Key on Pensacola Bayou with family holdings that extended down into modern-day Escambia County - making him one of first major landholders along the Gulf coast east of Mobile Bay! Fernandina's early residents include Jno., Catrina & Chas., Dnoey Biddle Sr., Geo Wm., Ann Whitehead & 3 children; Capt’n John Iden’s Wife Mrs Gertrude Aiken; 5 Generationslater still living there including 4 more Kids...
