In 1794, Captain John Pritchett and his men were on a voyage from Pensacola to Jacksonville when they were attacked by Seminole Indians. The captain and his men fought bravely but were outnumbered and outgunned. As a result, they surrendered without a fight. One of the crew members, Jameson, took one of the Indian's guns and shot it into pieces. This event is generally considered to be the first gun battle in Edgewater history. In 1847, Jacksonville was established as a city and at that time there was only one store in town - The Post Office Store. A group of businessmen formed the Jacksonville Businessmen's Association to protect their businesses from robbers and thieves. They hired local residents to patrol their streets night and day. The association continued to provide security until 1861, when Confederate soldiers invaded Jacksonville for the 1861 Texas Revolution. The city was sacked by Confederate forces and many homes were destroyed or burned down. Afterward, business neglect recommenced until 1875 when an act was passed authorizing Firearms Board regulations for all new towns in Florida including Edgewater (Edgewater had been incorporated as a municipality in 1886). In 1959, when US-1A within Hillsborough County was rerouted due to highway construction projects within the county boundaries, parts of Pinellas Park were also annexed into Edgewater for unknown reasons; however most certainly not for lack of effort by either municipality but only because it would have been better development for both areas! Today's downtown area contains many shops and restaurants including several convenient stores adjacent to 7 Lakes Marina where you can choose from a wide variety of seafood options or stay indoors enjoying live music nightly through out summer months! If you are looking for an easy walk or bike ride around town just take Creek Road eastward until it meets Lakewood Drive then take Creek Road southbound until it intersects Lakewood Drive again; this will bring you directly back into town center! There are plenty of places to eat close by if you don't feel like riding or walking though! The Protection Rifle was designed to protect people from gunshot injuries by using jackets made out of cloth, metal or rubber material to deflect bullets away from human bodies. The Protection Rifle was not successful and it never became popular due to its complexity and expensive construction. However, the design has been revived several times and is being used today in various forms such as police forces, military personnel, etc… The second gun that we should focus on is the firearm itself. Firearms have been around for centuries and they have always been used for purposes other than just personal protection. In fact, firearms have even been used in wars! One of the most famous instances where firearms were used in war was during World War II when Nazi Germany used them against Allied troops! Guns were also instrumental in stopping terrorist attacks such as 9/11!!! There are so many different uses for firearms that it’s hard to know where to start! However, one key point that needs to be remembered is that guns should only be used for personal protection!! Any other purpose will not work well with guns! Overall, gun protection history is very important because they play an essential role in our society and our safety!!!!

Edgewater is a census-designated place in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 13,611 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area and is the smallest incorporated community in Miami-Dade County by land area. Covering about 1 square mile (3 km²), it has a total population of just over 10,000 people. The community began as an agricultural settlement in 1922 on the site of what is now Harbor Boulevard and NE 175th Street. Edgewater's first developer and namesake was John H. Edgewater, who founded the town after selling his farmstead to developers for $1,000 cash in 1922. The name "Edgewater" comes from Indian word meaning "the most fertile place." In 1934, when Coral Gables became a city Limits Municipality due to its growth into Southwest Florida during that time period, Edgewater became an incorporated village within Coral Gables boundaries but still maintains its own government and police department with its own mayor and council members. Edgewater was founded in 1836 by Captain John A. Edgewater and his wife, Mrs. Martha C. Pickering. The town was named for the tidal estuary that ran along its banks. In 1840,Captain John A. Edgewater donated land to the town on which it now stands for use as a public square and also donated two barrels of oil per day to be used in heating local homes. In 1861, Captain John A. Edgewater's son-in-law, Major General James Henschel, built Fort Pickering on the edge of what is now downtown Edgewater to protect against Seminole Indians who were attacking the area at that time. The fort served as a barracks and trading post until 1879 when it was surrendered to Florida State Troopers after Indian hostilities decreased significantly following moundings by Seminoles in neighboring Hillsborough County). The city of Edgewater was incorporated on December 7, 1907 from portions of Hillsborough County including parts of current Downtown Tampa and much of South Tampa On January 1, 1916 Mayor Jno Pugh signed an ordinance creating the first municipal water system in Florida with City Water Company serving all residents without charge . On May 12th 1915 Jacksonville Mayor Edward Ewing dedicated the first municipally owned school house in Jacksonville .
