This amendment allowed civilians who met certain criteria (such as having no felony convictions) to purchase firearms without providing any form Of security or submitting To fingerprinting or other physical measures standard for purchases under state law at that time (Florida Statutes § 810). As this amendment continued treament change over timeDunedin experienced some high profile shootings including 2 murders which took place on separate occasions within 4 years each (1977 & 1978 incidents; see also Shootings by Place: 1977 - 2008). Gun control laws throughout Florida have evolved since 1957 with changes in both public opinion and Second Amendment jurisprudence following mass shootings around the nation such as Columbine High School Massacre in Colorado in 1995 and Sandy Hook Elementary School Shooting in Newtown Connecticut two years later which resulted in increased gun safety awareness among Americans nationwide

In 1881, Dunedin became an incorporated town after being selected as one of two towns in Hillsborough County for membership in the newly formed Seminole Nation of Florida. The town grew rapidly due to its location and access to fishing resources which led to its nickname "The Hub". In 1928, during the Great Depression, dunedin businesses closed their doors due to economic difficulties. However, with new business development over ensuing decades including a health care center and several large hotels and restaurants that attracted high-end tourists and locals alike, dunedin has regained some of its former glory both economically and socially; even emerging as an early leader in developing adjacent Pinellas County into one of North American metropolitan areas During Hurricane Floyd on September 15th EF5 winds knocked out power to most parts of the county including Dunedin; however many people had already evacuated before landfall so few were affected by what turned out to be just a very light storm (it ranked as a Light breeze event on NHC charts). A few businesses that survived such as Home Depot were completely destroyed with all but 10% of their inventory lost with no indication where it would go or when customers would be able to pick up their items again! One can only imagine how much worse things might have been if such an intense gust could have caused any widespread damage or loss - fortunately not because this happened! All told there were no reported injuries or fatalities from Floyd
The area now known as Dunedin was first settled by Native Americans in the late 18th century. The area became a part of Florida in 1827, and was named for Sir John Dunedin, an Englishman who had explored and mapped much of the Floridian Peninsula. The first mill on what is now Dunedin's Main Street was built in 1829. The town began to grow rapidly after it was designated as a city in 1898. In 1907, the city merged with neighboring Stonington to form one large city.
