The home served as a hotel until 1925 when it was demolished and replaced with a larger structure which still stands today. This important event helped spur development around Pinecrest as well as other areas within town such as Girdwood Park and Old Town Square In 1959, following passage of federal legislation authorizing bilingual education in public schools throughout the U.S., Dunedin began its own bilingual education program with instruction offered primarily through Spanish language immersion programs in high school classrooms As one result of its successful dual language educational approach, over 150 businesses have been founded or continue operation in downtown Dunedin alone since that time including several that are still active today such as KFC/McDonalds/Pensacola Beach Resort & Casino On October 20th 2018 Hurricane Irma made landfall near Miami Florida with winds up to 130 mph making it one of the strongest storms ever seen across America . As soon as Irma landed residents knew they needed to leave their homes quickly and many people did so by driving down I-4 into central Florida where rest camps had been set up for those who could not evacuate
