Today, there are several businesses which support cultural Activities such as art galleries and music venues throughout the year including: The Dunlop Brothers Tractor dealership; A&M Records; Dune's Rest & Resort; JCPenney anchor store; Ritz-Carlton Resort & Spa; Busch Gardens Tampa Bay - theme park In 2006/2007, Mayor Tim Moore created an Arts District around Main Street that includes: Pioneer Park (home to The Alvin Gentry Museum), First Baptist Church (the oldest church still standing in town), Pompano Beach United Methodist Church (a member of Southern Methodist churches), Jetty Landing Marina (home to several restaurants) On July 4th each year, locals observe Flag Day with patriotic activities including singing along to patriotic songs at various locations throughout town while enjoying family fun days out like petting zoo admission free during open hours or going fishing or swimming at nearby creek levels

They named it Dunstable and started trading with Indians there. In 1861, when Florida became an American state, Dunstable's original settlers petitioned for its incorporation as a village and were granted permission to do so on November 5th of that year by then-President James Buchanan. The first settler in what is now Dunedin was John Nicholson from Mansfield Connecticut who came overland from Tampa on May 10th 1868 with his family and farm animal. He was one of many early colonists who built homes around what are now downtown Dunedin and Pioneer Park Drive which are still standing today! At the time of its incorporation as a village, Dunnington boasted a population of 350 residents! In 1907, construction began on the first large cotton gin in south Florida – it would be called “The Cotton Gin” until 1919 when it was renamed “The Starlite Cotton Gin” due to its light blue coloration! That same year saw the opening of The Masonic Temple which still stands today as one of only two buildings remaining from that period in history! In 1912, Dunnington lost its status as an incorporated village when it merged with neighbouring St Petersburg into one municipality! As economic times changed throughout the 20th century and production shifted towards other areas such as agriculture or manufacturing;Dunedin remained largely unaffected but slowly began losing population until reaching its present day size by 2000 thanks to various waves of immigrants coming here during that time including Americans (mostly Filipinos), Japanese(many through internment during World War II), Cuban refugees (another result of America’s embargo against Cuba), South Koreans and Australians all working together in various businesses/industries over that period.
