In 1895, two brothers by the name of Weedon bought 5 acres (2 ha) on Bay Drive for $5 per acre (0·984 ha). They began to plant cotton fields adjacent to their cabin site; this started what would become one of Duval County's largest cotton plantations before it went bankrupt in 1902 due to overproduction from its own land alone). After his plantation failed, Weedon sold his interest in it to another brother who renamed it Delta Company after delta water molecules due to its water content which he thought would make it more resistant to pests than other plantations with similar levels of fertilization applied.) A park named after Drs King & Spenser was dedicated on May 17th 1934 during their centenary year as pioneers of medicine (the same day that Amelia Earhart made her first solo flight). Today's plaza includes many businesses including Burger King and Jamba Juice! In 1998, when Hurricane Wilma passed through Palm Beach County leaving behind extensive damage including most homes along with several businesses within 2 miles (3 km), much effort went into restoring things back to their former glory before Christmas week; however there are still some areas that have not been completely restored back to pre-hurricane condition including parts of northwestbrevard
