Debary also has two hospitals- Mayo Clinic Hospital and Eastern Regional Medical Center- both of which are large medical facilities that offer services to residents throughout Brevard County as well as surrounding counties such as Miami-Dade, Monroe, Hillsborough and Polk Counties..

Debary is a town in Hillsborough County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,541 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tampa-St Petersburg-Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in what would become Debary was Capt. John Swayze who arrived in 1790 and named it after his captaincy on the brig "John Gay" which he captained during the American Revolutionary War. Captain Swayze's heirs sold their interest in the town to a group of men led by A. P., Jr., who built a sawmill and gristmill on what is now Old US 19 near present day State Road 7A. The milling industry declined after World War I but new development began with construction of Interstate 495 in the early 1960s which increased traffic through town and made Debary more important as an agricultural center for nearby Hillsborough County villages such as Plantation Key and Dunedin Beach In 1954 developers purchased land along US 19 south of town from A.P.'s heirs for $2 million and began to build what would become known as Gateway Park, one of Tampa's earliest multi-purpose institutions including housing for workers at local colleges, a shopping mall, office buildings, and many other uses over the years; it remains today one of Gateway Park's most popular attractions Gateway Park has been used as a filming location for TV shows such as "Gossip Girl", "The Office", "CSI: Miami" and "Grey's Anatomy". There have also been several movies released here including "Ender's Game" (2002), "Tangled" (2010), "" (2012) starring Halle Berry and Anna Kendrick, "" (2013) starring Matthew McConaughey, "" (2015) starring Jamie Foxx and Tom Hiddleston,, “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol” (2011), “Thor: Ragnarok”(2017). In 2017 it was announced that Debary would be home to South Florida’s first MLB stadium when Starcrest Stadium opens later this decade
