George offered several different brands of scope tubes including those by Winchester rifles such as their Model 38 Super Sixteen and Winchester Model 90s along with Schmidt & Bender binoculars from Germany (which are still being produced today). In 1992–93 during construction of Interstate 495 through Brevard County alligator mussels were discovered at about 12 feet below water level off Southside Drive near I-4 exit 224A; this event helped spur public concern about the potential effects on surface water levels caused by construction projects around Daytona Beach. However no negative consequences resulted from this discovery until 2003 when an 8-acre wetland next to I-4 exit 226B formed due to stormwater runoff into Irma creek following Hurricane Charley. A $5 million project was completed in 2006 to improvements made to Little River Marine Park which includes dredging within impacted areas where alligators live anddamaging some wetlands adjacent to Currituck beach which supports garter snake populations
